USA ...embarrassment in RL world cup

The USA are one team that are not an embarrassment to the RLWC. They may struggle to compete with the Australian teams calling themselves by other names but the USA represent the spirit of a World Cup competition. They are made up of Americans playing in America, not Aussies playing in Aussie but playing under a different flag because their grandpa was born somewhere else .Until we have a Cup played by the standard the USA have set we will have an embarrassment of a cup.

I was proud of the American performance. Thought their fullback was great. Not your standard fullback (a bit stocky) but full of energy and never gave up. They deserved a couple of tries vs Italy and PNG.

Good on USA! Got a fan from me.

Hey Benny do you realise it’s a bunch of nobodies that they rounded up and half of them had to sell lemonade (actual fact) to raise funds just to get here?

Meanwhile France and Wales have teams in the best comp in the northern hemisphere and couldn’t win shit..
Neither USA, France or Wales won a game but look at the stats after the three games they played.

USA - beaten 168 - 12.....points differential minus 156.

France - beaten 117 - 30.....points differential minus 87.

Wales - beaten 156 - 18....points differential minus 138.

Talk up the Seppos as much as you want. The lemonade they sold you was probably Kool-Aid.

I bet you have Chuck Gnaw Arse posters on your bedroom wall as well.

I never understand this argument of "oh, the players don't live in their represented country! what a SHAM!"

How many of the squads in the FIFA world cup are made up of players from the local competitions? Outside of the likes of Germany, Spain, Italy, and England most sides are littered with players who haven't called the country they are representing home their entire adult life.

The only geese who care about that crap are rugby toffs, and for all their pomp and rightousness about having a "real" world cup, every tournament they hold is decided before a single ball is kicked unless the All Blacks have an off day (or are poisoned)

There’s a difference between working abroad and actually being a foreigner though. I think you are comparing apples to oranges.
How many in the Scottish side would consider themselves Scottish or even Scottish English/Australian.

Who needs union and afl laying the boot in when you've got these dck heads in RL?
The AMNRL is Davud Niu. He no longer has anything to do with RL. In fact he is involved with union 7s and used to promote a poor relation of American Football. He is a bitter and twisted individual.

Tell the players they wasted their time, particularly the domestics.

Compare the USA to Italy.

Italy - once again- flooded their side with Aussies and completely overlooked their italian domestic players, and how did they go? Theyve got literally nothing to work with now. In actual fact they mat be worse off. Imagines being an Italian who gave so much to qualify, OR even travelled over here and then didnt get a any game time? How do they go back and what legacy do they leave?

At least the US can go home and know that there is a pathway for their players. They have a group now who have experienced the top level and can go home and continue to play locally and help the domestic scene.

The sport is still in its infancy stage in NA. The fact that they set their sights on development for the 2025 WC and played local players should be applauded. There is talk of getting a few RFL teams on the states and having local players play for the US is an attempt to get the word out. Made in the USA is massive for anything sports related so they know what they are doing to get the people behind them.

Bitch if a team full of heritage players is fielded and say that local players should be used to grow the game...do exactly that and bitch that they aren't NRL standard out of the box.

Haha good point! OMG what a farce that Messi plays for Argentina - he's lived in Spain since his early teens
