I guess i looked at his game differently, had he dropped the three cold spuds in a semi when he should have been setting up a dominant win , instead of an 8 point fall over the line, you guys may also agree.

but you are right, his general game was solid and perhaps i am being too harsh.

He has a great step, it is so late that no one knows it's coming.
Sometimes it's so late, it doesn't bother happening!

I think you're on the verge of giving Birdy a dry route there Mcshark.

.....i gotta get me a pair of these bird coloured glasses. The games would be so much more exciting if i could have the pleasure of watching this superstar roam the paddock

Well if you watched any of the 34 tackles he took, the 2 lines breaks he made and the ~160m he gained (the best out of the whole team for all of that) you would have realised how much of a star he is out there.

I'm a convert.
I saw what he can do.
he has the fitler step. What he isn't doing, is maintaining forward motion. He has to keep on pumping.
What the support has to do, is get in the right position for him. Which I believe is late & close.

Hmmm, dry root? Nah, just calling it as I see it. Similar to what you did. ;-)

Thats funny, cos Birdy is about the only player I ever hear people on this forum griping about when he drops the ball.

Oh you noticed that too, Salmon? Nah there are plenty of guys that get bagged for handling errors. Bird does get special attention though.

Well I certainly can ignore the odd handling error if he plays with stats like that every game.

Should be a beauty tomorrow night.

Isemonger would be a better option at 6 than bird !

but seriously, on current form, it is only a matter of time before raper
makes changes at birds expense. hilder to 5/8 and bailey to lock has been talked of at training and this weeks team hints at that change, raper giving backrowers bickerstaff and isemonger their chance to shine, with view to sacking bird when gallen, lomu, isemonger, bickerstaff, galloway, nutely, green, and newton are all fit and available at once, that depth will allow hilder to go to 6 with bailey to 13, and the others fightinh for the 2 2nd row starters spots and 2 or 3 bench spots.

Bird has made my prediction seemingly come true sooner than expected, or he made it easier for raper, who doesn't have to drop bird now to put his plan in place.

this weeks team will probably read :-

1. peach
2. Rieck (if fit- saleh if not)
3.mcgoldrick
4.franze ( vagana if fit)
5. simmons

6. hilder
7.noddy

8. beattie
9.bosnich
10.nutely ( sorry, no option with stevens likely suspension)

11. isemonger
12.bickerstaff
13.bailey

14. galloway
15.green
16. williams
17. sully
