Why would you believe that he would accpt lower than what he is earning now? Do not believe what you hear on here. It is 100% wrong. After kickins he is exceeding 800k, right now. Moylan would have exceeded him but didnt get any kickins(unless we win GF).
Theres the 2 highest paid in the team.

Well, FD has shot you down previously on that assumption. I'd be inclined to believe his side at this point, Moylan is the highest paid player in the team.

Lets say you are right though, 800k a season is a poor offer on our behalf.

Dollar goes a lot further in Townsville. Would also be given a massively subsidised house or two from Lancini and co. Shit hole of a place though.

The Cowboys have made no secret of their desire to snare Holmes and would gladly take him straight away. There’s no chance of him leaving early, however, as the Sharks won’t allow it. He is originally from Townsville and the desire to move back for family reasons will likely result in it happening.

Like we all suspect ... the longer Val delays his decision, and given all the signals from Val so far re family ... he will end up signing with the Cowboys for 2020.

The vast majority of Sharks fans want Val to stay after his much improved attack at fullback (even though he has a lot to learn in defense & positioning). Me included. And we have likely offered more dollars than NQld. But in the end, we all know the family stuff will win out.

So the club should be realistic, say Val we know you're torn, but we need a decision by early September - and then reach out to Barba if this deadline passes. Bugger waiting until the end of the season - we can't afford to miss out on both.

That's about the size of it, if Barba wants to sign back here also etc.

Chooks chase Cam
The Roosters are the latest club circling Cameron Munster. The Storm star will become a free agent from November 1 and will command plenty of interest if he hasn’t recommitted to Melbourne before then. Roosters boss Nick Politis rarely misses his man and the club view him as a marquee half to play alongside Luke Keary when Cooper Cronk retires.

Melbourne appear the best fit for the Queensland and Australian playmaker, but Parramatta, North Queensland, the Gold Coast and Newcastle are some of the clubs considering their options

FMD what about these sombrero merkins!

I thought he was a Cowboy player when he walked off with them after the game Saturday

If we let him go into 2019 without a contract extension, he is gone in my opinion. If he's the future, we shouldn't let it get to that stage.
I'd be signing Barba regardless of what Holmes is doing. If he wants to come home, we can get him on a cheaper deal I think and he can fill the bench role that Seggy is leaving behind if Flanny is too stupid to not extend the Segway.

Yep agree, I said the same thing earlier this year.

This is what will happen. Holmes will not make an announcement prior to November . Cowboys are restricted from making an offer until then. At this stage I dont think he knows exacty where he will be because he hasnt had an offer from Cowboys. They are going to jettison a few contracted players in pre-season.

Keep his girl happy, show her marketing opportunities within Sydney, help her make contacts.

Fly him to NQ once a month (two days off mid week, even in the season) for the life of his contract, have a house put aside here for his folks and fly them here whenever they want.

Plus some passes for family/friends.

Off season give him plenty of home time.

Seems like we could make some amendments to keep him happy. He is a kid and rightly misses his folks.

And no doubt he loves his home, but show him and his partner that Sydney is the place to be to really make your mark in the world.
