Verdict ominous Cam Kings Performance

I thought Cam King gave our forwards a better roll - crisp "accurate" passing, very quick service very much in the guise of "cam smith" plus he knows when to run and steal those yards.
His defense up the middle not as good as Reins but much prefer a fit King as our hooker.. He's special adds dimension - if he can string 4-5 matches together...

Better defender than he's given credit. Took on Fuifui a few times last night one on one and dropped him. Not an easy thing to do.

No surprise that Cam King is a more complete player, but long way to go as far as match fitness. Did get 56min but looked to struggle after first 20min of each stint. Was strapped up like a mummy and when rattled in a couple of tackles I got a bit nervous. So still think Rein has the inside running at this stage and too early for a verdict. Might wait until King's put a few 40min+ efforts together.

Best game ive seen from him in attack and defence his work out of dummy half was fantastic. Wont get carried away with his performance just yet as it was only parra we were playing and their marker defence was quite sloppy at times

Exactly what I think. He hits like a second rower and people forget that he hasn't had much opportunity and his match fitness isn't as upto scratch. His service to the forwards is far superior then riens and he has that cam smith x factor about him.

Our forwards seem to get the ball earlier with both King & Cook at dummy half, their passing is quicker & crisper than Rein's.It seems to give the forwards more momentum in particular it showed with DeBelins game,he continually bent the Parra defensive line.

King had a good game last night....The service from dumy half was the difference last night, it gave the forwards great go forward.

We have no shortage on hookers, which sadly means we will lose one at one stage...

Rein is signed so keep King and Garvey. Garvey has a couple of years to go before he seriously pushes for NRL selection.

When King starts taking up an equal share of game time as Rein, then Rein's game should also see some improvement.

I think Rein needs some individual coaching. He is only young and I think his game could be improved with a bit of one to one coaching.

Agreed.

It's only 2 areas that rein really needs to work on, kicking game and speed of service at dummy half.

Just takes that split second longer than king..

On the flip side King made some bad sloppy attempts at tackles last night in the middle...

As I have been saying for at least 2 years. Both of these guys are the goods.
With both Rein & King we are about 12-18 months away from having the best hooking rotation in the NRL. Both fully fit King/Rein will be quite a distance in front of any other rotation.

Agreed Johnsy. I never bought into the whole Rein vs King thing. Having two first string hookers fits in well with modern player roster.

Yeah, I am going to go there :D

No coincidence that we score 32 points when Mitch Rein is out of action. We looked so much sharper out of dummy half last night. The forwards had some breathing space around the middle, and the service to our halves was much better. Jamie Soward looked like he was enjoying receiving the ball on his chest for a change and I don't remember a forward pass either.

King put a couple of nice kicks in as well. Can we renege on the Rein contract

Rein is not a first graders arse hole. The team looked organised for the first time all year last night. I also noticed that he picks the right way to go (left or right) more often than Rein.

Yep. There are really only three 80 minute hookers in the game. Smith, Farah and Luke. The key is the way the hookers compliment each other and I think Rein/King is potentially an outstanding combination.
