a good effort by catalan, it seems the overseas recruits have helped them out.not getting carried away they did when there first vs wigan last year, very encouraging with out jones. Seen the 17 on bbc, 8 french in, have to say would have like to have seenbosc at 6 rather than wilson. But it is all abouts winning game the pack looks very strong with giffi, fakir to return & bertlzene left out.

It's a great result, probably Catalans best since they beat Wire at the HJ early last year. No Jones, no Fakir and they were down to 12 men when Chan was binned. Their defence was a big problem last year but it seems they soaked up a lot of pressure and held Hull to just one try. This against the grand finalists of last year, who were admittedly without Cooks, Tony and Manu.
If Catalans can beat Wigan next week I think we can realistically expect a much better season.

I listened to it on the radio, the English commentators didn't seem to think it was much of a game, they didn't have much to say about the Dragons and didn't really give them any credit, but a few fans of Hull rang up and said they deserved to win and hull didn't deserve a point.

Well done to the Dragons, Cassy Mcguire sounded like he had a good game, I think Jason Croker was lucky to be on the pitch, the way the BBC guys were going on, it sounded like he made about 4-5 head high tackles.

When they did give Catalans credit, they said their forward pack dominated Hull in every aspect and gave the defence a big rap.

HULL FC 10 - CATALANS 10. Heroic in defense from one end to another of the part, the Dragons seldom spit fire attacks some but brought back of this first displacement a point which in known as length on their potential.
On a grass bearing its name badly, because victim of the rains of the previous days, the Catalans made a success of an semi-exploit vis-a-vis Hull FC, finalist of the last edition.

Guisset, KB on a plating, was however replaced by Ferriol at the end of five minutes of play only, but that did not remove anything with the heat the Catalans, who made equal play with their hosts, until the test Mogg. Used on a step by its former fellow-member for Canberra, Croker, author of a master key to small onions, the athletic center “blood and gold” misled the local rampart of an interior hook. Edge of the key, or almost, Gorrell transformed. Opposite, one continued then with correctly making circulate the balloon, but “Airlie Birds” butted constantly against a heated red defense with white and supérieurement organized.
The public sang in vain with deployed throat, the bird black and white wing in spite of a healthy offensive management of the ball beat. With the image of Briscoe, which however released the ustensil at the moment to flatten (27). Or of Yeaman, failing in its turn of a hair, a few moments before the end of this first period disputed on a false rate/rhythm and dominated territorialement by the buildings, but in vain. Hull FC, with the play more untied than that of its rival, had very tested, but the heroic defense of the Catalans had made it turn in she-ass forty minutes during.
Rescue of Murphy
Obviously remained to know if the visitors would not pay soon this creditable amount of efforts, even with Guisset, of return on the ground, with the recovery. Because Hull lit from the start fire, Carvell falling nevertheless on a bone with a handle centimetres from the Catalan line of in-goal. Sanctioned for an illegal plating, lesvisiteurs conceded their first points with the 49e, but then Pelo made its number on the left wing. With the profit of Guisset, at the price of a lifting master key, and the Catalan captain giving again inside for Duport. A test of great class, rewarding the spirit for initiative found of the visitors (10-2). Because if the occasions of tests had, in rather rare first half, summer, those to ignite were differently more numerous. Including on behalf of Hull, Sing, shifted on traditional attack, allowing its team to restick with the score. Then Tickle made a success of its second penalty, consecutive with the inflicted warning with Chan (10-10). To twelve, Roussillonnais suffered. Murphy saved a test with the foot, for the second time of the afternoon, Hull missed the drop by a hair, Tickle blow-frank, in skew, and another drop missed its target. Lastly, Croker in extremis caught up with Briscoe left in against. The wheel of misfortune had thus not turned to the detriment of the Catalans being satisfied of this null match which in known as length known their capacity of resistance this season. Without speaking about the promises in attack posted yesterday by Pelo, Mogg and Duport.
