I reckon 6 weeks is pretty harsh. It's 25% of the season. Dylan Brown got 8 weeks for a criminal offence that now sees him as a sex offender. I know they are different but is being called a monkey worse?
If a fan said it, they get a lifetime ban from NRL games. Are players supposed to set the example or the fans?

anything short of 8 weeks is bullshit, it blemished what was a magnificent weekend. The fact it has now come out he goaded Mam post match on the sideline as well, then again at the hotel, the bloke is scum. No matter how many weeks he gets, I hope the first week back he snaps his ACL and then does his Achilles in his comeback game next year

Fans aren’t employees (which the players are) and don’t have lawyers with judiciary hearings. Fan bans are just random statements that don’t even really stick. The NRL can just say what they want when ‘banning’ a fan. It’s a completely different process. In fact there is no real process.

Ask Ezra. Racism is racism IMO and we don't know why he reacted as he has so vehemently.

IMO, no comparison. I would rub Leniu out for the season. I think the NRL were lenient with Brown and would not have been upset to see him miss more of the season.

Racism is racism. Correct. And sexual assault is sexual assault. Both are bad. But I know which I'd least prefer happen to me or my kids and which one should be dealt with more harshly (It's sexual assault if you didn't know).

Don't want either to happen to my kids.....

Having dealt with a lot of young people who experience both its not that one is worse than the other. They shouldn't be categorised based on your opinion of which one hurts more...

The court dealt with Brown and he copped more weeks from the NRL. It wasn't a good look for Brown or the game.

However, racism is something that many of these young players will have dealt with on a daily basis growing up. They have often used the game as a way to escape it. It should not be tolerated in any way shape or form within the game or in general life.

They shouldn't be compared - they should be treated for what they are and accordingly, not because one is worse, IYO, than the other.

But if the NRL are going to allocate suspensions in weeks they are inevitably going to be compared to 'what is worse' because one will have been deemed a more severe punishment than the other.

They will be compared but shouldn't be. They are different and the game needs to deter both.

But similarly then, what is worse, a player snorting some coke up his nose on a weekend, or sexually assaulting someone? The coke guy doesn’t hurt anyone else but cops 2 years.

Different categories of offences can’t be compared

I had to laugh at Fumble Balls bold plan to play games this week in Sydney and QLD while the NRL was over in Las Vegas..

Only issue is they are a week late and due to only playing 4 games in NSW and QLD the Storm get Friday night to themselves in Melbourne...

That games going to go the same way as Union in this country.

Parramatta is playing at the same time as the Orange side on Saturday.

Commbank will be a sell-out while the orange side will look like they are playing in a local park with a bunch a family members watching.
