To whom it may concern,
Im quite certain that Ill be labeled an idiot along with any other long suffering Sharks supporters who go out of their way to voice concern about the current state of the club; however, these concerns need to be aired.
At this point in time, more than any that I can remember, the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks are what I would consider to be not only an utter disappointment, but also an embarrassment.
All this in the year they were going to do it for Sludge. What a disgrace.
From where I sit the reason for this is the total lack of competence from the CEO down. Here are the facts:
The club persists with coach who is totally out of his depth. When we had a coach that wanted to bring a winning culture to the club he was stabbed in the back and sacked, which in turn ended up costing the club even more.
We have a halfback that is so far out of form and past his use by date that he would be lucky to get a start in park football, yet he seems to be impervious to any action. By that I mean he should have been dropped some time ago.
Despite many players being lost to the club for 2007, recruitment has been minimal at best.
It seems to me that the board is happy to leave its head in the sand and accept mediocrity yet again. If I were one for conspiracy theories, I would think that the club is happy to be run down so that a merger or relocation is an easy sell to the supporters. Maybe this is already underway?
When will this embarrassment end?
Well a good start would be to remove an incompetent coach and an untouchable halfback whom has seen better days.
The board also has to go Has Peter Gow served enough time on the sidelines to come back into the game now?
