Johnson has sublime instincts as a broken defensive line/open field runner. One of the best I've ever seen. But Johnson has poor instincts as a half. In fact I'd rate Sam Kasiano's ball playing instincts higher than Johnsons.

Has it ever occurred to be people that Shaun Johnson is not an NRL half?

Guy pulls out miracle plays out his ass 1 every 3 games he plays and people think he is a half.

He aint a 7

He resembles a fullback and plays like one. You aint going to win shit with that.

Next week can we put dresses on mannering and lillyman before they run out. If we are going to watch our players get their A$$es rammed at least dress them up a little.

In regards to SJ I know what your saying but where's he gonna go? We got RTS, we ain't got much halves and other posters want Lolohea to go fullback as well. Great that we all see the problem but can we do the hard part, can we come up with the solution? Not that we'd get our way but you know what I'm saying?

Regards to Lillyman and Mannering, I only spotted Mannering doing one hit up where he was jogging. Mannering and a few others can afford to do that cos they know they won't get dropped but we definitely don't miss it. It's clear as fear but the thing is its only now and then that he doesn't give it everything.

Lillyman hate this time of year is a bit tired and formulaic - I know everyone wants a big dynamic prop, but Matulino aside we simply don't have that...

Stats I see say Jake made 134 metres, behind only McGuire for the forwards and 33 tackles with one missed - our only forward to make 100M, Thompson and Matulino each made 78. In contrast 3 Broncos (McGuire, Blair and Glenn) made 100+ metres, and Gillett, Parker and Thaiday all made 80 =/- a few...

Not sure why that makes Jake the problem - if you want dynamic hit ups bring back Matagi, doesn't really help much - and for all the Gavet love, he made 45 M from 7 hit ups, regardless of time on the field a metre per hit up less than Lillyman...

Metres aren't everything, admittedly, but that's a solid game for a centre forward -

Yes, first issue is the front line, obviously - nobody is saying that it's not... but RTS should have made that tackle, plain and simple - even if they score from the next play he still has to make those - no front line is impenetrable...

Coach the guy. He's not a fullback. Nil aerial experience, positional nous and questionable defender at times. So basically he's a broken field runner, something that is actually not a particular asset against great sides like the Broncos with organised defensive lines.

Someone says he has no instincts, yet he's won countless Tests as a halfback. So what gives? He's just poorly coached and handled with us. Look at Milford. Rocks and diamonds at Canberra (under an NRL half who is a halfwit) then goes to Brisbane, should have won a Clive Churchill but didn't because of the result in GP, then puts in an absolute master class on Friday. It's not SJ's fault he's had shit coaches. He thrived under Ivan in his rookie year then got duds.
