mate, now that graham and kasiano are back, the doggies have the biggest and most aggressive monster pack in the comp - Kasiano, Pritchard, T-REX and even Eastwood has a bit of bulk to bully most other packs.

Man dogs just owned us up front thats how we lost it. We seemed to go to sleep in the second half, didnt see many attacking plays? Johnson went quiet too. Was wierd, almost like ME told them to go out and play a basic numbers game which we were never going to match the bulldogs at. Come to the conclusion that our boys just cant handle bigger packs. Idris/Taylor now Kasiano/Pritchard/Williams have owned us. We seem weak.

Johnson and Fish need to be put on strength programs. Lets remember that if they never found professional league these guys are actually natural 65kg skinny bastards with no strength. They've beefed up in their adult years but still lack the strength of guys of similar weight/build because of their low natural strength.

Is Fish unfit? He looked so gassed trying to chase down Reynolds.

Hats off to the Wellington (lower North Island) public for going to the game. With a crowd of 30K surely that will now ensure that at least one NRL game per year is taken out of Auckland as well as pre season matches.

Actually, all the other clubs in the NRL must have been mightily impressed with Wellington last night, the Bulldogs captain spoke for all when he said it was 'a special occasion'.

I'm thinking more clubs will want to take their 'home' games against the Warriors to Wellington. This would produce a wonderful outcome whereby we don't have to cross the Tasman much, if at all, during the regular season.

A pipe dream but there's something in it.

I have a soft spot for the Warriors so I hope you guys can bounce back and start winning a few. Good luck.

Cheers.

That seems quite common in Sydney (not presuming you're from there). Most people I come across have that 'soft spot' for the Warriors.

It's always been a myth that we're unpopular - even unwanted - by the majority over here.

You still come across the odd grizzled Sydney-centric Souths fan who wishes the Warriors would stay 'over there'. Then again, these folks hardly accept Canberra either!

I agree - the Dog's bigger pack beat us up
It's nice to see a coherent uniform- yellow and black - Wellington
Sick of jade and fire and vomit.., we should have two colours and stick to it

Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing multiple jerseys... IF they were all based on regional colours. 'Heritage' based off the old Auckland jerseys, plus Wellington, Christchurch etc based jerseys. They could play in those jerseys whenever they play in the corresponding region, or whatever fits as an appropriate away jersey if required. After all, the Warriors are supposed to represent all of NZ. This Fire/Ice/Whatever crap is rubbish though. And of course, the Warriors would then need to probably look at having a few games outside of Auckland in this scenario - there are definite downsides to that, too. (Maybe they could stop playing at Eden Park and move those games outside of Auckland...)

I don't think the refs had a say in the result - there was some awful, some 50/50 and some downright strange calls going both ways pretty evenly. They certainly didn't have their BEST game, but their performance didn't favour either team. The Dogs just kept at it until they battered our (fairly good) defence down. A good display from a team with their big guns back in and starting to fire.

At least Inu wasn't there to score the winning try. Would have been unbearable that and, knowing our luck, would have happened. I'd forgotten about him last night.

So who do we play next week? Surely they have a star player, struggling a bit of late, who will suddenly come good, even do something incredible. Can't wait.

Isaac John? Lewis Brown??

In a match-saving tackle Sharkie will steal possession, pass to Isaac who will run 70 metres before off loading back to Brown who will score. Game, set, match Panthers.

How about both Johns brothers making spectacular comebacks for Newcastle? They could both do with some good press, particularly the older one.

I hope the Bulldogs start taking their home games vs the Warriors to Wellington again, allowing you guys to look at other places to take a home game to grow your support even more. I always hate it when the Dogs take a game to the Central Coast, when their are so many better places for us to be taking a home game.

Hard. Over 30k and a great atmosphere (plus a guaranteed win) make it a fairly attractive deal, surely!

The Warriors clocked off, but the Dogs stepped up a couple of gears at the same time. They played well overall, despite being battered at the start. That was kind of my point...

...And the Pandas get a good confidence building win vs the Storm, the week before playing us.

...Of course they do.

I was thinking this only happened to my local club cricket team but no, I'm getting it on two fronts now.

Panthers fans will pour into the ground. We'll play well then...the noise the home crowd will make when they snatch it with two or three late tries.

Might not put myself in the position of going through that. Anyone else thinking of going to the game?
