Mateo you f**ktard!

Another shocking second half from the Warriors. Looks like from now on we need a 24pt lead going into second half to have a chance.

We had absolutely nothing in the second half. gave up easy metres. Made none of our own. Gave them penalties every time we finally forced them into their own half and kept the pressure on ourselves all half by losing the field position game. Same story every week. So frustrating.

That match winning try to golden boy Barba AND sideline conversion was oh so predictable wasn't it?

I expect this to happen to us. Am fed up with the whole sport now. I don't have a second team unlike some.

Fish just ambled after Reynolds (?) at the end, then put in the effort and should have stopped him. It was probably all over by then though. Shame he ruined a good night for him personally.

Emotionally draining week, day and night (today).

The boys played pretty good though, it was luck and a few silly penalties/errors that lost it for us. Although the errors were negated by Pritchard giving away three turnovers at least.

We lost structure when Godinet was on - he got pulled early too , promising start , at least they gave a shit for the first 60mins

Hard to watch the last ten , my little warriors heart is broken

Fish ruined his perfomance with that last defensive effort

I'd run Michael Ennis over if I saw him on the street.

Yeah, when it's this close after the game we all tend to emotive post...it does seem all so cruel sometimes.
I think for the most part they played well, steamrolled and ground down by a big side hitting some decent form...the final 20 is still a big concern, but a vast improvement on last week despite winning. Hard to keep watching a team that falls short time and time again, it was a good game tonight though.

Only one forward made 100m, Mannering.
Dogs had Graham, Kasiano, Pritchard and Goldman.
Forwards need to step up.
I thought Mateo looked good and when he got his spell we seemed to clock off, his second spell didn't produce anything.
Basic mistakes and dumb dumb penalties cost us.

I felt the deep running was working in the first half, in the second we kept to it and dogs up to it, TL went with a kick through once with an unlucky bounce for Manu, needed to try some more variations.

Need a big head shrink or world leading sports psychologist to get over the mental hurdle we seem to have with these fades, its now one hell of a habit.

Didn't think our last 20 tonight was nearly as bad as the 3rd quarter. Straight after the break we gave up a huge amount of possession and territory. It was quite pathetic watching it. I could be wrong, but from memory we gave away two 5th tackle penalties during this period.

I think Mateo is being hard done by. Had a great 1st 30mins where we were up by 16 before he was dragged. When he came on again in 59th minute momentum had fully swung to dogs. We were only up by 6pts n not long after we gave up the go ahead try. Sure he pushed the pass to Carlos when down by 2 but what was he supposed to do??

Why sub Godinet with 5 to go and we're down by 2pts? Surely he's a strike player who might make something from nothing. Elliott has alot to answer for IMO!!

Carlos was average. Didnt really make mistakes but didng create f**k all. Laumape would've done more from what we've seen so far.

Maybe Canberra n Penrith fans were right when yhrh were happy to see back of Elliott!!

Want to say congrats on the big defensive game. I thought you guys were outstanding in the second half and for the periods we attacked in the first. Very tough defence but the 'Dogs were too good in the end.

Not that it's a fault of the Warriors, but I feel the Bulldogs were hard done by all night by the referees. They were bloody horrible and almost ruined what was a very entertaining game. Can't believe they missed Vatuvei's 1 metre forward pass to Fisiiahi to score.

I have a soft spot for the Warriors so I hope you guys can bounce back and start winning a few. Good luck.

Godinet was average and slowed our attack down last night , we had no structure out of dummy half.

We came out like we were down 24pts after half time , couldn't believe we only gained 26m in our first set.

We looked frustrated in the second half , mannering especially - he gave away two uncharacteristic penalties , i think ennis got the better of him last night.

Cheers, yeah happy to concede the Dogs were too good on the night and ground us down. Ref calls are in the eyes of beholders though; I thought the Dogs were lucky not to be pinged more for elbows in the face etc in tackles-there was some grubby stuff there IMO, and I felt some of those '6 more tackles' were not played at and 50/50 went against the Warriors. That said it was nothing to do with losing the game- Dogs won fair and square and Warriors have got to sort out that last quarter problem they have.
I felt the Warriors were better this week than last, despite losing, they just need to start playing for 80 and we'll start to get a share of wins. Defence was pleasingly better for most of the game.

in hindsight, we played right into the Dogs hands by playing our game up the guts. They were too big and just kept knocking the crap out of us..

should've gone wide and made the big bastards run..

Man Elliot looked and sounded pissed at the press conference.
Esp at the Ennis hit on Fish. Not sure how squeaky he can get? But he wants to get in front of Daniel, not sure what it will change, but good to see he isnt going to take the shit calls anymore.
Seemed ok with the 50/50 obstruction on the next play, just not 100% sure where Baraba received the ball.
Will Kasiano get sited for his crusher style tackle on Taylor?

The article the other day about being hidden away in NZ when it comes to the refs is on the money. The NZ press having a whinge about 50/50 calls means squat all in Aus.

ozbash is right too. We were playing an expansive type game which had the Dogs on the ropes and then they just stopped playing until it was too late. Very disappointing performance.

Meh we lost on the back of the dog's big forwards grinding our little forwards into the dust. We need a physical presence in our front and back row - too many little guys. Ridiculous considering we have our pick of South Auckland. We don't have a smart enough spine to pull off the athletic, mobile approach teams like the Storm use. We need brute force too.

The result was a shocker and the Warriors did enough early on to secure a win however as I've said on a number of occasions, this side is about 3 decent players away from being a consistent top 8 side. Unfortunately I'm not sure if the club has enough ability to secure 3 decent (class, regularly 1st grade players).

Hats off to the Wellington (lower North Island) public for going to the game. With a crowd of 30K surely that will now ensure that at least one NRL game per year is taken out of Auckland as well as pre season matches.

I agree - the Dog's bigger pack beat us up
It's nice to see a coherent uniform- yellow and black - Wellington
Sick of jade and fire and vomit.., we should have two colours and stick to it
