even though auva'a hasn't been good this season, i think he should be in the centres instead of gray

This is looking more and more likely. Unfortunately there aren't any good 5/8 on the market. Not sure what we are gonna do there.

You never know what the knock on effect can be of teams signing other players. So whilst they may not be on the market now I hope we are in a position to act quickly if that changes.

Yes he should, but Souths needs the trash talking very angry Auva'a. Not the nice
Auva'a who helps every single injured opposition than their own trainer.

South Sydney’s Nathan Brown doesn’t care if people call him a grub

4 hours agoby MICHAEL CARAYANNISSource: The Sunday Telegraph
NATHAN Brown has been labelled a thug and rugby league’s dirtiest player but the South Sydney enforcer has a simple message — “I’m not changing the way I play”.

The firebrand prop has come under fire in recent weeks for his aggressive style of play, which included escaping sanctioning for a groin stomp on Gold Coast player Agnatius Paasi.

He was also charged but not suspended for a late tackle on Wests Tigers five-eighth Mitchell Moses.

Brown said his detractors were entitled to have their say on what they observed, but he had no intention of altering his playing style.

When asked if he had to amend his ways Brown said: “Nah not at all.

“There is no point. I haven’t got suspended at this stage. I’ve maybe done a couple of things wrong but I haven’t got suspended. I’ll turn up each week and put my best foot forward.

“Everyone is entitled their opinion. As long as my teammates and my coaching staff like the way I play that’s all I take notice of.

“There is no point being aggressive if you’re letting your teammates down by giving away penalties.

“It’s an area I have to work on but at this stage I think I’m going pretty good.”

South Sydney will need every bit of Brown’s controlled aggression when the struggling Rabbitohs face the defending premiers North Queensland on Sunday.

Brown said he would look to take it to the Cowboys’ representative front-row pairing of James Tamou and Matt Scott.

'Didn't think I'd get to 250''Didn't think I'd get to 250'2:52
“Yeah I will stick to the game plan and it’s personally a massive challenge,” Brown said. “They are the best forward pack in the competition. It’ll be a good physical challenge. I’m looking forward to it.

“I don’t go out there to try and do anything aggressive. It’s just the way I play. I just go out there and play footy. Those things happen on the field and you get the heat in the moment sort of things. I just try to play my natural game.”

The Rabbitohs head into the clash in Cairns having lost their past four games and are quickly losing touch with the top eight.

Brown acknowledged that their season is on the line this afternoon.

“Yeah pretty much,” Brown said. “We are making it hard for ourselves. We make silly errors and give away silly penalties.

“We’re working hard at training but it’s not paying off for us at this stage. We’ve just got to keep working hard and look forward to the challenge.”

Rabbitohs captain Greg Inglis says team mate John Sutton is an unsung hero in the NRL and will make his family proud when he runs out for his 250th NRL game tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon in Cairns.

“Since 1908 he’s the first player to go through and play his 250th game, so it’s great milestone for himself and for his Club,” Inglis said.

“He’ll play like he always plays; with a lot of heart and a lot of pride and he’ll make his family proud.”

Inglis says he will doing everything he can to make sure the celebration for his friend’s 250th game is a happy one.

“I’ve become really close mates with Sutto,” Inglis explained.

“We’ve grown a very close bond on and off the field, and I’m pretty sure there will be a couple of tears tonight after the presentation (of his game jersey) as well.”
