Did you read the article in the paper where he was moaning how everyones given up on them? Hes got some cheek. The reporter didn't really give him much sympathy as I read it.
I read that and I was thinking about how dumb that article was and how dumb his dive from dummy half was. I just remembered tonight that I seen him hold the ball in his right hand and he fended a guy coming from his right with his left. He had the time to switch but because he's not smart enough to carry the ball in 2 hands, his hands weren't set for the swap over. Dumb merkin

Dr Death, is that it? The season done? You haven't quite said yet.
Yes done.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, by after last week, at home, for Manu, Panthers down a top player. Made it pretty clear for me.
Have felt that way since Eels game though.

For me it was the first Panthers game, Rd 10. You don't capitulate like that if you're seriously in the hunt for a finals spot.

What's your plan b? Mine's the reserve graders, I'm really into them. They'll be in Sydney for a finals match sometime in September.

I'm Storm for A Grade, I've always been a Storm guy, right back to '98.

Kata shouldn't even be there, go back to the reggies and learn to be a team player.
Neither should Bodene, we're just wasting money and time and we need to invest in up and coming talent.

Ken Maumalo has showed the heart and application to at least attempt to fix himself.
CNK looks a seriously good player.

So I'd go:
2. CNK
3. Ayshford
4. Fus
5. Ken

Plan B, not sure.
Enjoy good footy, the 8 is near set after this round so far, Panthers only team sitting outside that look likely.
Storm are clinical, but looks like Smith out till finals and Slater will miss some for concussion.
Normally pick team with most Kiwis to support.
Para over due but unlikely.
Will wait till final 8.

Growing up, it went Raiders 80s, Broncos 90s Warriors95. Use to follow winners. :)

NSW cup side now lost Lino so might struggle?
Kurri Kurri bottom of local league as well. Hmmmm

Exactly, but Kearny won't change anything.
No accountability.
All we can hope is Des is desperate when push from Dogs next year.

I think CNK might be a centre long term.

Though TBH I thought he looked like a centre when we signed him and the thread came up here showing his highlights... so maybe I was right initially, or maybe there's just an element of confirmation bias at play. He did get named in the NSW cup team of the year in 2016 at centre though.

Also, they might want Fus to play centre, but his attributes seem of better use on the wing (and may well be the next fullback if RTS leaves at the end of 2018). So CNK->centre makes sense to me.

Of course, the better option would be to go sign a centre or two (for competition, if two - I'm happy enough with Ayshford.. though they'd compete with him too, not just for the other spot). James Roberts I wouldn't trust to be available (read: not suspended for bad behaviour) to make his high asking price worth it, and nothing else from NRL ranks jumps out at me... but as it happens I do like two reserve grade centres (both QLD cup guys, though one switched from NSW cup mid-season).

1. Jeremy Hawkins, Sunshine Coast Falcons. Been in the Storm system for a couple of years now after a very average start to his career in Canberra. Currently ripping QLD cup apart, and not really any question marks over any aspect of his game. If I had to knock him, it would be that his attacking numbers are likely inflated a bit because he's working with the Croft/Walters halves combo... but that's it (possible questions over his hands too I guess - makes his fair share of drops, but again likely inflated by him seeing so much ball.. and his create/score rate compares favourably to his error/penalty rate). Decent ball runner, very good at setting up others (particularly his outside man), impressive (and consistent, for his position) defensive work.

2. Jordan Drew, Townsville Blackhawks. This guy will surely be keen to move for an NRL shot - why? Because he just did move this year - for a chance at a shot... in the future... at a club that already has centres. Hasn't shown much of setting up his outside man, but a strong runner and a better defender than Kata. Also has been making very few errors. Came through at the Broncos, stuck behind internationals at centre, moved to the Sharks, stuck behind Bird/Leutele/Beale/Capewell at centre (unjustly, I'd argue, in two - maybe three - of those cases), now hoping for a Cowboys contract (behind O'Neill, Linnett & Bowen... and with a young guy ripping up NYC this year at the position).

Here's the concerning thing. We lost all three grades. NYC got beat by 60. Reserve grade lost convincingly. We have a thousand blokes leaving next year. We have two blokes coming. I don't see how we stop this ship from hitting the titanic.

Yeah I saw that article.

TBH anything that comes out of the mouth of a Warriors player these days is just lip service.

They've been saying the right things for 4-5 years. Attitude this, defense that, sticking to game plans, building pressure, being consistent etc

Then tthey go on the field and back it up only once a month.

Just watching Sunday footy show and saw replay of RTS not grasping ball leading to last try.
His head instantly went down, while Ashyford, Bunty, Maumalo (in camera shot) actually put a chase in.
What message didn't get from coach? Tough luck son?
Or tough luck son, now I need your ass to chase down the error and lead the team like a captain.
These are grown men, who need to start facing some truths, grow from it not hide from it.

What's up with Kata defensively? He was really really good last year in defence. He held the line well, and was comfortable getting off the line and sliding out. Now I see both him and Ken running in Manu style. Sometimes I can see some numbers issues inside, but often it's just stupid.

Sure vision wise it looks different on field v on TV, but Ken wasn't doing that earlier.

I don't understand also why Sam Lisone hasn't come on. He was outstanding in NYC. He was excellent in reserve grade. He is unique that he is able to concern a B defender and he can ball play to a man taking that hole. But he's so mentally geniused that it's holding him back. He's fit enough. He should be our prop that goes large minutes and causes genuine problems.

One thing he is horrible with is defence. Absolutely woeful. Any time a quick player with footwork gets near him he panics into an arm grab. Yet I think if he trusted his agility and footwork better he'd be fine.

I'm going to say also Lillyman no longer has the physicality to be a starting prop forward. He is getting manhandled.

Also Isaac. He has three or four weeks where he is brilliant. Then he just offers nothing. He's Jims mate. Offer him an ultimatum. Pick up or pack up.

.

Kata: Believing his own press, combined with terrible defensive plan where we hold off and hold on the midfield and wait for the opposition to come to us, except Kata hasn't/can't adapt and still rushes up leaving giant holes.

Lisone is the old chestnut of a player coming thru bigger than everyone else in the juniors and never actually learning how to play, to be disciplined and smart.
