Vs Knights Rd4

SJ just ran 50m sideways and found a hole.
Let's hope that this half fives him some confidence.
Thought he might want to pass it, but took the line.
34-12
First conversion miss.

Luke steals one out of dummy half.
Set up the outside right to keep the defense interested.
40-12
We still seem to be relying on individual brilliance.

Let's see Sheck get clear, it's frustrating how he seems to keep getting just hung on to.

Geez, I'm glad we're not leading 20-18 with two to go. I'd love Konnie to get one. Newcastle have heart though. It'd be sixty if they didn't.

Far to easy, shirt grabs by SJ and Matulino.
Followed by RTS being stepped again flying to fast at the attacker.
Slow it up and push him toward sideline.

40-18

yeh, they clocked off that last 5. got real sloppy. Forwards set up the win.
Step in the right direction. But we did beat a cellar dweller so not getting too excited. TAB got it right.

Things we missing:
A structured attack inside the 20-30m zone.
Robson defensive reads inside our 20-30m
Players supporting/ following for second phase play.
A consistent kicking game.
Discipline in defense regarding penalties. (Ref a bit enthusiastic today)

Sure I've missed a few things.

But glad for the win and gives Cappy a bit of breathing room.

Rather average first half, actually it was worse than that it was pretty bad, especially in the middle 20 of the half. Luckily we came out in the second half and played really well, and really starved the Knights of decent possession. Finally some good structures in attack and the defence on Newcastle's line was the biggest highlight for mine.

Will have to play better than we did in the first half against a better opposition but they said they wanted to improve every week and they've still maintained doing that. Every team that has played Newcastle has lost the next week so we'll have to be good against the Roosters.

It looked like things were starting to click, but I have to keep remembering its only one game after 11 defeats so I'll try wait a few weeks before I get too excited.
It did put a smile on my face though.
I wonder if Gubb will ever get to score a try, he looks to want it bad and he deserves one I think.
