Vs Manly rd 13

Congrats lads, one of those game where both teams walk away cursing that dickhead with the whistle

Big effort to come back twice from 16 down but a bridge too far in the end, key moment in the game Taupau being knocked out cold, he was starting to absolutely tear the middle up, probably won’t get much agreement lol but that’s a classic send off, 10mins was a soft call from the refs
When was the last send off?

Felt the hand got the shoulder, forearm got the chin, from behind looks terrible, front on, not as bad. Didnt seem over aggressive like you see JWH pulls out.
But suspect he has at least 2 weeks on sideline.
Manly to many injuries on the night (probably balances out with our sin bins) and don't like wet weather football (lost 8 out of 9 from what I heard)

that was how I saw it too. Not malicious or deliberate, more a reflex tackle, and the hand was on the shoulder. But the angle of the tackle meant his sem got Tapau across the face and at the end of the day it’s Hetherington’s responsibility to keep contact legal. 2 weeks seems about right, careless rather than reckless.

Any injury news on CHT? Was wondering why Herbert took the conversion in 2nd half. Phil mentioned a possible injury in his commentary.

Looked like a groin/upper quad that he grabbed at, didnt see him kick long after that it was all Nikorima. Didn't seem to affect his running to much but he didn't get into top gear and they targeted him in defense with 32 tackles (4th highest count)

Anyone miss Green?

His history probably wont help.
Had to sit out next week v Panthers as they blocking him playing, which is poor form when they going so well, not like they fighting to stay in the 8.
From all his faults he is a high energy player, watching him off the ball he never is never loitering and trying to be in the action.

Thought it was fairly clean contact from a swinging arm that wasn’t ever coming from a point below the neck, Taupau was out cold as soon as it connected

I actually thought Taupau get sent off for one similar last year but that may have only been 10 in the bin too

Jeez Waddell was good for you lads last night lol. Really, really liked what I saw from Olakau’atu last night and hope Des keeps picking him. Funa shows some quality every time he plays as well

Season probably done for us, by the time troops come back it will be too late.
Tom T, Parker, Walker, Fonua-Blake, Fainu, Taupau, Thompson, Sironen has the makings of a decent side lol, none of them available at the end of the match last night

yeh Waddell was good for us. I didnt appreciate Jazz giving it to him though. We got the ball back. Thats all that counts. Im ok with the team celebrating amongst themselves, but his rubbing it in shit and giving the guy a gobful is not necessary. Plus I am a firm believer in karma during a game of league. What happened next?
Hetherington gets pinged for a knockon that didnt seem to be there. Thanks Jazz...

Can we petition for Blocker Roach to never commentate our games again? f**k me he doesn't even try to pretend he likes the other team more every time we play. Biased prick.
That doesn’t even bother me as much as the fact that’s he says the stupidest obvious stuff all the time, and if he ever had to talk for more than 5 seconds he starts repeating himself because he can’t hold more than one of his unoriginal thoughts in his head at a time. He’s such a cringeworthy commentator I can’t believe he has a job.

Warriors always get the third string commentating team so we seem to get Blocker every single game.

Remember the good old days of Vossy?

on the other side of the coin, he is good value on Matty Johns podcast. has some great stories to tell.

Maybe its a Balmain thing with the commentating. Gary Freeman was a shocker too.

I remember him lambasting Nikorima for kicking it for the sideline when we had a guy sinbinned. What a moron! (Blocker Roach, not Nikorima -- who was clearly trying to wind down the clock for the guy to come back)

Vossy and sunny Sunday arvos. So good.

Yep, you're right. Blocker is Captain Obvious. He loves RTS and shitcans the rest of us (although I think he has a woody for Katoa and Harris too potentially). Memory tells me we beat the Tigers at some stage last year (?) and his head nearly exploded he was so pissed off. He's picked up from where Gary Belcher used to be in the biased prick stakes. The Warriors are always 'big tired forwards' or under performing.

Tbh I don't even think it's bias. I just think it is a classic case of being hired to do a job that you are not able to do.

Blocker is, at best and this is super duper generous, a sideline commentator who they would throw to twice a match to see if it is raining or something.

Well we can still use up a week of his suspension on that game so I’d say Penrith blocking’s his is of no account now, haha

That's interesting. Surely it shouldn't be used because he was never going to be playing it? I know this becomes an issue in league around Tests, where selectors can pretend a guy was going to get picked to shave a game off suspension. I think SBW did it too in rugby union potentially where they tried to pretend he was going to play a club game between Tests or something similar?

If we're being fair dinkum, the Penrith game shouldn't count for any ban.

I guess it depends on whether it's officially part of the swap contract or if it's more of a "gentleman's agreement" thing.

On those lines maybe we should have asked Ken or Fus to take out Keary and Tedesco in their last game, I reckon they'd have been OK serving their suspensions. :p

Taupau was really hurt by the foolish swinging arm. Intentional or not that will be a big factor in the upcoming hearing.
