I did not pick that at all. I thought we would be in for an absolute hiding. We have almost an entire team on the injury list. What this says to me ... is Webby has the whole SQUAD believing, we actually have depth and our season is still alive. Brilliant result!
The injury list is horrendous. That’s what makes the win really unbelievable. I really thought Penrith would put 50 on us today and after the kick off it looked even worse

I’ll give the team some credit on that count- outside of the first 15 against the roosters, nobody has looked like putting a big score on us all year. We’ve been disjoined and outright bad at times but they pretty much always hang in the contest.

I just hope Webster uses the bench a bit more going forward. You could see the impact of fresh players
He still didn’t use Mai’u! Though with the way players were dropping early on he was probably keeping him there in case someone else went down ill forgive him today.

Maiu'u was 18th man. the commentators talked about the 18th man being activated but Ford and Montoya both passed their HIA so he wasnt eligible. needed 2 to fail and only Egan did.

Maui was 18th man and wasn’t activated so couldn’t use him.

Roache, Tevaga, Ale and Laban were the bench and well used I thought
Ah ok, he was included in the stats which confused me. In that case well done Webby, they all got good minutes

Barnett seems to be developing into a real leader on and off the field. If the injury gods are kinder next year I think our pack is n a pretty good place, just need to get our backline issues sorted.
Plus he'll get even better this year when Niukore comes back. Extra muscle support, with interest.

I think this situation was the circuit breaker we needed- in stead of a team underperforming and under pressure because they’re expected to win, we had essentially a NSW cup team going up against the premiers with no real expectations and those guys took it as an opportunity to rip and have a crack. If they can back it up at home against the phins next week, we’ll go into the bye 5-6-1 and be on the fringe of the 8 when we come back and can hopefully bring the big names back as they’re properly ready and not rushed and half fit. And guys like Berry and Lussick can earn their spots back in NSW Cup, which will be good for them.

I've just watched the match highlights. So, that last penalty which Edwards missed, had Pompey tackling the Panther after he had his foot on the ground. Isn't that not 'tackling in the air'?

I didn’t actually realise the clock had run down so far when the penalty kick happened - was pretty awesome realising there was about 35s to go and we had the ball, and hence the game!

The penalty was for a strip, which oddly they never really showed a replay of
But I'm even more confused now. A 'strip'? But wouldn't that be a one-on-one strip, and therefore legal? It was just Pompey and the Panther, wasn't it?

Either way it was all meant to be. It tested our ticker, so to speak. Us fans I mean, and us forum members right here, specifically. We passed the test, although I'd like to hear from a few others soon, just to be sure.
