I'd sooner we got Daniel Anderson back tbh

MOM for mine was Packer for the sock on Johnson. He woke up and improved a little after that.
I know people are filthy on Bluey, and rightly so...but really, you gotta look at some of those players out there. I bet Hurrell was stoked not to be there.
I didn't want to believe the 'some players aren't trying' theory, but there were a couple out there I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Anyone who can stomach a replay, watch Johnson through the game. When he actually appears onscreen.

Yeah what's up with SJ? He isn't trying. He put Mateo, the leading off loader in the comp, into a half gap and didn't even follow him

I've been a season ticket member since '95. I've been through the dark days. This feels worse for some reason probably for the reason stated above. In '04 when we got rid of Ali gross mismanagement was highly likely. This year it's certain.

I think it feels worse due to it never ending. Honestly, when have the Warriors gone on a dominant form run, consistantly? Once, in '02? Most of the time it's a roller coaster ride that ends in tears after hopes are raised!
Most predicted Warriors to become a powerhouse, like a Storm or a Broncos over the years. But once again, they basically give up and become a bit of a joke.
I think to say 'there go the fair weather fans' is unfair. Why should you bother, if players aren't going to? It goes both ways. Some of what happen today was inexcusable for a team in this comp.:?

I'd be interested to know at what stage (in those early bad years) were we effectively no hope of making the finals. Past bad seasons we have at least gone on a bit of a run to get us close heading into the final fortnight. This year has only gone backwards.

i said the same about the parramatta players who sold kearney out. basically showing no respect for the people who pay their wages or for even their own professional reputation. all because they (probably) don't care for the coach.

i think less of them for that than of what we've seen of mcclennans coaching skills.

Not to mention that fans that showed up today after a dreadful month of results and performances. Surely playing for them?

i'm always loathe to trot that one out, but exactly. all of the empty seats can't motivate you, but surely you can think that there are people there who are clearly heavily invested. if not financially, but emotionally.

SJ needs dropped. Needs to stop believing all the hype. Looks like he's pissed off half the team, too.

apparently in the after match press conference Bluey was blaming the late hit on Luck and the knees to Benry as the reasons why we lost...

listened to Bluey being interviewed by Alan Mac. Told the players after the game to hold their heads high. Blamed loss on tightness of 2nd half interchange due injuries first half to Lousi and Friend.

I'm no McClennan fan and want him gone but I'm feeling really sorry for him lately. No coach deserves a rabble like that playing for him.

Some of these players should be stood down on principle for the last two rounds and the coach should stay for that time. The other way around just rewards unacceptably poor behaviour.

I'm seeing some spoilt brats right now, a hangover from their 'rock star' status last year.

Loving the Dogs at the moment, and our disgrace of a footy team even made that black v gold abomination last night in Sydney look OK.

Bluey:

"I've said to them in the sheds, I'm proud of them," McClennan said.
"To only have four subs in that second half, that's a pretty good effort by the lads."

Cleary:

"It looked like two teams who haven't won much this year, that's what that second half looked like," Cleary said.

"It wasn't the result that we all wanted, but I'm pretty proud of the effort that was put in," McClennan said.

Good work, champ.
As a fan I can't have any beleif when I hear that kind of thing and it's just not possible to maintain any respect for what he says. Does he similarly say things to the team that make them doubt?

Even if it's intended to deflect negative attention from the team, or give them a thread of hope, or empathy, or belief, it will not when there is nothing credible about what is said.

whether it's primarily the players or the coach at fault the fans can not be criticised in this instance for failing to turn up when the Team clearly won't put in for them.

They don't take him seriously

Well they should because he's the head coach. He should have dropped a few of them at various times this season. They'd return to first grade and listen to him then and if they didn't they shouldn't be playing for us.
