Well, OK, what a thread to read through. It reminded me of one of those '70s disaster movies, Airport '77, Airplane, or something.

The plot's always the same, all smiles, frivolity, champagne, excitement and good-looking people that's eventually replaced with first, intense unease, then mounting tension, panic, insane clutter inside the cabin, and eventual terror.

A nightmare at 20,000ft. Thankfully, they always survived the crash in those movies, and we have next week too.

That's why I had the thought this morning about match fixing.
RTS needs his bank account, phone and any associates TAB account checked.
Some of the decision he made are suspect!

I think they get brown paper bags with money in it, in the car park. Either that or he had too much cocaine after the ANZAC test lol. Just unlucky with his positioning at the back yesterday me thinks.

The worst part about this defeat was how we lost our heads the moment there was trouble.

We win easily if we catch our bombs, get to the 5th, find open grass, and make our tackles.
Penrith were always going to fire back, it was a case of weathering the storm until they're out of petrol.

90% of the above is fitness, attitude, and pride. We have neither.

Hoffman was 2nd on my list.
Deliberate penalty in front of post.
Rushing out of line at angle to leave massive gap for Moylan to go thru and score.
Missed tackle on last try and no turn and chase.

I boarded a flight out of Wellington with us up 28-6. I had a lovely flight, chatted up the flight attendants, got to visit the flight deck on arrival, had a bit of a drunk buzz going.

I then had no access to the result until I got checked into my hotel in Auckland. My phone went across the room. My pockets emptied to all four corners of the room. It darkened my mood so much it caused me to have an awful fight with my partner.

My relationship with the Warriors was already in a bad way and was considering a break up anyway. Now however, the hardest break up of my life is done.

He's a terrific player IMO, and has a long history of dominating Warriors packs - just looks like he spent the off season in the pie shop... did he have surgeries or something? Was great last season, no mistake

Did his knee or maybe ankle in the offseason and didn't have much preseason. He has been struggling this year, that one probably his best outing for us. Last year he was very good.

Reasons for tries in seconds half.
Zero Line speed.
Kicks found players not grass.
Double penalties in play the ball. (Sao then Hoffman)

First try: SJ misread in defence, Yao went straight thru.

Penrith kicked to grass and corners.

Second try: RTS out jumped.

Third try: Yao fend on SJ and Fus drawn in, Yao offloads to Blake who gives RTS a don't argue.

RTS let bomb bounce, tackled in goal.
Luke doesn't gather ball after bounces into chest.

Fourth try: Hoffman rushes out heading between dummy half and leaves massive hole for Moylan to go thru as Kata left hanging.

RTS knock on in Front of posts.
Moylan passes ball into Foran hand.
Kata strip penalty strip.

Last try: middle field.bomb straight to player, lazy tacklers.
Pass 3m forward.RTS misses another tackle.

Yao ming doesn't play for the panthers, Isaah Yeo does though lol. Seriously though I think you nailed it with the bold, that was the main cause . It was a crazy second half everything went our way, bounce of the ball, the refs etc The panthers intensity obviously lifted and your guys dropped just a bit and that was all it took. We have not completed our sets that well for an entire half all year, momentum just never went away from us once we got it, in previous weeks an error followed by a penalty would usually swing it back to the other side.

Oh and that pass was shockingly forward but we've had a horror run with the refs this year so we were probably due for one to go our way.

What's worse a 40-0 shellacking or giving up an insurmountable lead after a great first half?

Hmmm
Giving up the lead is pretty fresh.
Say a win feels like 20 and a loss feels like -20
A 40-0 shellacking is kind of all negative so even if it went past the normal loss say -30, the roller coaster of +20 to -20 gives you a larger drop(-40).

You weren't alone, Doc.

I've signed up for the entire season knowing full well how it's likely to end. I believe you should too.

I hope there's still a bit of unpredictability to our season. If you sign off here then you just might miss something like 2011, although the chance of that is slight. The Tigers humiliated us at Mt Smart that year, with Benji rubbing it in and taunting us at the end. We blew a 20+ lead. The game changed on a penny when Maloney was penalised for some silly retaliation in the play-the-ball.

There was ultimate revenge in the finals though. An unforgettable game (and experience for those that were there, despite the doubters).

In more recent times, and with Penrith being the relevant team in this thread, look at the finish to last year's game at Mt Smart. Extra-time, the Panthers showed their inexperience (and/or stupidity) to let Johnson run. Watch it in slow-mo and it's like ballet, five defenders, all together, go one way and then the other, as Johnson does the opposite.

As a fan it's priceless, and I, for one, want more of it. More than just a few highlights in a season though, of course. It's a wait that will hopefully be worth it.

And that is why we lost.

Too early in the season for those top 8 shenanigans.

The news must've been realised quite late in the piece. Three minutes into the second half I noticed a frantic Cappy run onto the field and whisper something into Roger's ear. Roger nodded earnestly.

The urgent, panicked message must've been sent down the line by Watson to Doyle then onto the field via Mooks. We can't have any of this top-8 carry-on.

This season, if we ever get to be a win away from the eight again, then I hope the chain of command is better organised. Sending the message out during the game is just not on.

Can't help wondering if there were any unusual bets placed on Panthers win at half-time? I think it would have to be more than one player involved for it to go so horribly wrong like that. I just don't know how else you explain a loss like that. Gambling and drugs go hand-in-hand now, it would seem.

Anyone see that vid on 3 News tonight with the Warriors jersey getting torched? Who the f**k can afford to do that? I would rather sell it on TradeMe than burn it. What a waste. Must be on cocaine.

Please someone tell me again, why the f**k is Cappy still here?
