Could tell something was off from our first set. Did Lisone carry the ball - NO, did Matulino carry the ball - NO...... So WTF was that? Our props were still making their way on the field or something?

Funny thing is I expected a sin bin in this match. Tone was set in the Parra v Cowboys and I thought that night that something similar would happen tonight. Dumb play by Ayshford and fair enough sin binning but no consistency either.

As soon as I saw Gavin Reynolds reffing I expected early penalties against the Warriors so no surprises there either. Just like his calls in the Manly game a few weeks ago. IN SAYING THAT......... we did ourselves no favours.

We have no mental toughness. Looks like they're just waiting to get the ball. Don't wanna defend. Sad.

Well if Cappy is still there he better make some calls and drop a few players. This BS can't keep happening or our season will be over.

Thought Fusitua played well and Luke was hopeless. Lillyman tightened up the D when he came on. Should be starting next week surely. Lisone needs a few weeks out.

Could have done with Faitala-Mariner out there tonight but..... oh that's right we let him go??!! And why is Wright out there? Umm yeah..........

:x

Hmmm, haven't seen it yet, its recorded. Should I get up tomorrow and watch what sounds like a trainwreck or just delete it and pretend we had a week off?

Have seen much worse go unpunished, even the clear penalty and professional foul on Luke the play before off a quick tap.
It set us up for something we couldn't come back from.

If you must, put it on double speed, you may think it isn't when we on defense and we seem to be moving at normal speed, but you will see Melbourne moving at massive speed.

Seriously, don't waste your time, man. There's nothing in this game for us. Melbourne were big, strong, fast, smart and professional. Their little guys were even better.

We played like dimwits, we looked in trouble from the first try. They were under the posts with blank stares as Smith took the kick. I knew that look. Twenty one years of watching this club made for immediate alarm bells which proved correct.

Is it a requirement to watch the kicker?
I would have a huddle/circle every time no eyes down and captain in the middle discussing what needs to be done.

Obvious concern about Lolohea who got smashed by the winger rushing up, but actually making the tackle.

Mannering will also be in doubt. A nasty, cut mouth can take a while to heal. Manu looked sore at the end, but he usually does.

When's Lane coming in? We need something new. He's only signed for this year, he wouldn't have been swapped for one of our young guns if we didn't plan on him playing first grade.

Is there a spot for Hurrell next week? There isn't, is there. Our centres are locked down. We could do with his x-factor though.

Vomit inducing performance IMO. One of the worst I've ever had to sit through.

To show absolutely no commitment on Anzac Day of all days is just so embarrassing.

How do I quite this rabble FFS!

Well done to those of you who watched it. I had a quick look at stuff.co.nz to see the headline "Warriors make horror start" and decided I'd rather watch an episode of the Sopranos. I wasn't prepared to have the long weekend soured by those buffoons. (Although the twitter updates of the game ended up ruining the Sopranos for me).

Instead of spending all that time and money getting Luke and Tuivasa-Sheck, we should have just hired whatever cheap fullbacks and hookers were available locally and put the rest of our energy into teaching the rest of the team how to play league. I'd rather see a team of plodders play out of their skins and exceed expectations than a team of hotshots consistently fall short of their potential.

League commentator Andrew Voss has ripped into the Warriors - but he was treading lightly compared to the reaction of fans.
A club with an often sad history hit another low with a gutless 0 - 42 NRL defeat to the Storm in Melbourne, and Radio Sport callers didn't hold back.
Fox's Voss reckoned "that's a savaging from supporters I've never heard the likes of it" before dishing out criticism of his own.
"I will describe the performance in the first half - and this is a term I never use - as hopeless," said Voss, who was once the designated Warriors commentator.
"What adds to the frustration of the performance was the occasion. Every player spoken to talked about the privilege of being invited to play on (Anzac) day...in front of a big crowd in Melbourne. One team was ready to play and the other team was absolutely missing.

"They had no idea defending their line...we know the attack is there, but I've been talking about their defence all year...a side conceding over 20 points a game."
Voss, speaking from Australia, said the danger signs remained even in the Warriors' rare victories this season.

"The Roosters were bottom of table and still scored four tries. Newcastle were pretty awful the day they played the Warriors but still ended up with 18 points," he said.
"Last week (against the Bulldogs) was a fighting performance, but they could have lost. Last night that fight was left across the Tasman.
"We're not talking about a whole lot of rookies here...with the playing squad the Warriors have you could put together a great career highlights package. "The senior players are nowhere near their potential. The inconsistencies aren't just week to week, they're within the 80 minutes."

Caller comments in response to the Melbourne game included.-
"We were right in that game and then they kicked off."
"Someone has to pay for it...we've had four years of not making the eight and it will soon be five."
"I supported the Warriors through thick and thin and copped so much rubbish from my workmates...last night was just gutless. I've had enough."
" (Shaun) Johnson...he's up himself."
"I'm struggling to contain myself...I spend money, I bought a membership, every home game I go down there...all we want as supporters and fans is one word - effort. I'm pissed off, disgusted."
"The bloody coach should be sacked..."
"We don't deserve this...it's just b!@@#$%^."

Watch it to see the Kiwis forwards from Melbourne in good form for the ANZAC test.

First time in a long long time that I gave up after 10 minutes.
Glad I did.

I should be so lucky. Flew down to Melbourne for the weekend to attend the match with a mate who supports the Storm and also took a couple of German friends along to their first NRL game. Deadset wanted to walk out of the ground after ten minutes. Spoiled my whole weekend.
