I agree with Penrose Warrior somewhat, Wright is a really mediocre player who is being shown up big time.
He won't last long in this team if this keeps up, even Bill Tupou had some gas. Laumape has to come back.

But seriously Hurrell was at whole different levels of fail, no winger in the world could have had much success with that rubbish standing next to him. Can't remember the last time I saw a worse Warriors performance, it wasn't quite Manu vs Eels but not far off.

Did we use a full bench last night? I'm sure Peyroux was the fourth bench spot but for the life of me couldn't remember seeing him out there? Maybe he'll take Hurrell's spot next week (which I'd be fine with) to give the big guy some notice for his pretty sub-par performance.

I cannot understand the apathy about Wright and his spot in the team from some people (who are fully entitled to their opinion, just I don't get it)

He made 112m from what I can see - 40 odd of which was a gift-wrapped intercept where he showed no toe, another 20 in clear field when he was again mowed down easily, and that leaves bugger all else.

His direct opponent was clearly the best player on the field, which is a bad start. Koroibete's first try I don't know if there would've been DNA evidence that Wright even tried to tackle him, it was that soft. No it can't have been easy outside a lazy prick like Hurrell but he was still exposed on a few occasions. Dropped ball, and the cote de gras (sp) was his pathetically weak effort to score in the final second. Any player with half a ticker would've at least dived in to try ground the ball, forget the score.

That final act would be enough for me to say you're gone. Cappy had the perfect opportunity to play Laumape - a guy who is a good defender, has heart, gains metres etc - but went for the vanilla option. Which is going to get us absolutely nowhere in 2015 or any time for that matter.

I can't be accused of being a hindsight expert as I said ad nauseum pre-season he was a poor buy. And I also said Konrad's form after signing a contract would be lazy. I don't back him to be a bonafide NRL player at our club. Too many distractions and young culture BS

This.

Wright was handy enough to have in the early rounds with all those injuries (although whos to say someone like Jarrod Tua would have done any worse?) - but with Laumape back (and hopefully Fish+Fus this week) he should be nowhere near the team... he simply isn't good enough. He didn't have a good game at all vs Storm - Hurrell was worse, sure, but at least Hurrell CAN be excellent. Wright doesn't have speed, doesn't have power and makes more than his fair share of mistakes (this week it was more in his defending).

I think that's a little harsh on Hurrell though, he just had a bad day. Genuine strike weapon - needs to sort out his hands.

I would also like to see Kata go back to NSW cup and learn how/when to pass to his winger. And that pathetic attempt on Fonua for the first try... infuriatingly awful. Manu/Laumape/Hurrell/Fish please.
