WA BEARS

Watch out for the big bad Sydney centric NRL you drunken fool.

Thinking that the Bears will only come in due to being only Sydney shows how little you know about RL.

For starters ALL Clubs and NSWRL and QRL are stake holders.

The QLD clubs and QRL aren't going to back the Bears through a Sydney Loyalty.

Nor are the QLDers on the commission.

The only reason the Bears are a chance is due to concerns.

Instead of discussing the merit of concerns you only want to insult people. Where as I want to have discussions... except for with a scumbag like you
Oh Pookie don’t be so angry. Summer down now. You got owned. It’s part of life. Move on Pookie.

As I said above. The NRL have no interest in the Bears just as a Sydney relic, There is merit or more so concerns about a Perth only bid.

Yet no one here wants to actually discuss the matter
No cares to discuss it, they just want to cross fingers and ride that wave of ignorance, for all the schoolboy team chatter, none of those kids go to do anything unless they get picked up by the nswrl or qrl clubs anyways, which if they had an nrl team they wouldn't be able to translate anything of note as there isn't the standard of competition out west that there is on the east coast

That’s a very long sentence.

Not just players but the game hasn't got enough quality coaches now, let alone for 3 more teams.

The reason I ask these questions is we have posters here from Perth, They may know more.

For example. the RL site shows only 5 teams in u15's and 6 rounds in. The team coming 1st has played 3 games.

So either that site is wrong - which it often is for my sons games

or locally they can't run an u15's comp and putting those kids into a Harold Matts side next year is impossible.

The biggest issue with Perth is it will rely on staff from Queensland and NSW for years. No one from the QRL and NSWRL will want to lose accredited coaches and trainers to Perth. The ARLC won't want to f**k with the junior pathways that produce the talent for State of Origin.

The last thing the QRL can afford is to have a parasitic NRLWA robbing it of coaches when the NSWRL has a higher player base.

Love seeing Perth red doing a compete 180 with no fanfare

as usual he was wrong when he’s been arguing the jets of a stand alone team would be the winning bidder
Haha let’s talk about being wrong shall we? Some of your dead cert predictions:

png WILL be club 18
png WILL be based in cairns
cairns WILL get a new stadium
png WILL be in nrl before 2027
perth ISNT in contention

You ready to pay up on our bet yet or are you a weak gutted dog?

Great.

Mind me asking what sort of numbers they put through it?

No matter what plan comes up, Perth locals in the East comp whether it be QLD or NSW need a good school program when the season ends in April
Must be different out east, schools programs don’t produce sports jnrs in WA, the local amateur clubs do. in all sports.

theres currenty 7 shs in the scholarship program.
22 jnr clubs.
Approx 3500 jnrs.

,melbourne Storm have basically kept origin alive for the last 20 years! Another pathway for qlnd players is just what the nrlhq would like when it comes to origin!

youre really scraping the barrel of excuses for no perth team now lol
just accept it and get on board, you’ve been looking for another club to support :)

I've been thinking about the bears/Perth thing.

What is actually in it for the bears?

Perth gets the location, the licence, bears juniors, retain the black and red colours.

The bears get their logo and a token game at NSO.

If it means a team in Perth do it.
Literally their existence. If and when the nrl reintroduces reserve grade there will be nothing left for clubs like the bears to play in. They will go the way of mounties And be nothing more than a pokie den.
If they can’t get the brand back in nrl soon, and the direct pathway to keep them relevant it brings, they will go the same way as Glebe and many others before them.

same as Newtown, hence their desire to try and get a link up with perth as well.

blacktown, Newtown, ns, mounties, wenties. All possible Sydney partners for a perth club.

See this is the sort of stuff I was after.

Over here we have that but the NRL clubs run programs for the best from that.

Perth NRL side will likely have their pathways work with a school or schools. To get the program running along side the NRL team.

If they have say a squad of 40 in Harold Matts, It benefits them to have the kids not playing getting the same from school/weekend games or the side will go no where

Not just NSW.

Blake Mozer was a highly touted kid

The Broncos for example has been getting elite training since he was 15.

He was still playing for local club and was at Kebra Park school getting further specialised training.

Although as highly rated as he was and all that stuff he has still only played 2 NRL games.

So it shows that even that is how hard to develop regular NRL players.

Brisbane has 12k juniors for comparison

Good call. The non-NRL Sydney clubs see the writing on the wall if a true reserve grade happens.

As it is, there's a trend for more and more NRL Sydney clubs to bring their NSW Cup feeder teams "in house" and have their own branded teams there.

I imagine Blacktown Workers will manage the drop down ok if Manly go it alone (to be fair, they're more used to lower tiers), but Norths & Newtown will be sweating over their long-term prospects.

Rockhampton, Mackay in QLD cup will be the same. Probably why we won't get a reserve grade comp

North Sydney and Newtown could join the Queensland Cup.
