WA BEARS

I asked you earlier this week if you’re actually a supporter of a WA based side or a WA based side that requires Cumins to be part of it.

The more the week passes the more it’s clear that you’re a Cumins supporter first and foremost and a WA club by any other means second.

Why are the names of the investors important?

Cumins rejected them therefore no Norths board seats. Cumins wanted it to be fully WA owned and operated (paranoid control) and when he couldn’t achieve this he reached out to Sydney based business people to invest into it instead. Anything but the Bears investors it seems.
Second paragraph nails it. After years of PR endlessly criticising Sydney clubs for their pokies he’s in cahoots with a bloody pawn broker.

Hehehe.. I assume the admins will be billing you shortly ;)

But in all seriousness, it's good to see points being made here that step aside from bias (against PVL or against the Perth bid) and try to analyze the setup of this entry fee.

You raise a great point that if the entry fee was/is charged as a safeguard against the event of an expansion club's failure, then shouldn't that fee be ringfenced for that contingency (if even for a short/medium term of x years) instead of just dividing it up and passing it to incumbent clubs?
If that was the intent they would have just asked for a bank surety like they did with the Dolphins. Would make no sense to torpedo the only other viable bid in this way to ask them to pay a huge 'just in case' fee.

Anyway … onto what is happened today … is Cumins now trying to put together the money for the fee?

You very rarely get something of value for nothing .. and just because someone did previously doesn’t mean you are entitled to the same now
To be honest what Cumins is paying now for start up fees and potential license fee (had he chosen to pay one) he easily recoups that money and then some in the future should be choose to sell his shares. If the club is run well of course.

He takes a loss short term but long term there’s a financial gain for him, should he want to capitalise on it. Surely as a businessman he would be looking beyond the first 5 years and well into year 10, 15 & 20.

And I don't think anyone actually thinks it will end up as nothing this time. The NRL asking for $20m 2 years after asking for nothing is stupid. And given all the articles suggest every bid failed to meet that number, the market agrees the NRL made a bad decision.

Never met the man. Its good for you to deflect onto me personally to avoid having to answer questions but maybe you should consider whats being asked rather than whose asking it? The irony is the bid not getting up puts the chances of you ever seeing your beloved Bears back in the NRL at slim to none. You should be praying the bid can work this out. This your best, and maybe last, chance to follow an NRL Bears team.

You cant throw out a statement like that without having some evidence that it actually happened. How do you know that happened? what was the offer they made? who made it? Maybe there was very good reasons the bid team turned some offers down. Or maybe there wasnt any and these NS investors didnt materialise? Id suggest given the Sydney investors are only putting in $4mil it wasnt essential for the bid to accept them and the reason they did was more to do with what they bring to the table than the money they put in wouldnt you?

But wouldnt you agree if Norths want a bigger say in the club putting in an offer to pay the license fee now would be a sensible thing to do? Or maybe Norths dont care enough to part with $20mill?

You're right - and that certainly makes the NRL's demands - and lack of consistency- look particularly bizarre & perverse.

So you won’t tell us who your source is? Say hello to Sacko from me.

The only deflection here is you from the truth and your love affair with Cumins mate.

Bears under the watch of PVL are worth something, so much so he is willing to directly negotiate with WA Government to come to a compromise and agreement.

I’d rather the bid be actually worthwhile and people behind it competent in their decision making to just willy nilly accept any Joe Blogs who clearly isn’t up to the rigours of running and operating an NRL club in this business. There are other people far more suited to the role.

You’re the one who should be praying that these better suited people step up. You threw your best man at this and he dropped his lollies.

So please by all means keep deflecting and arguing on the truths for what reason? To save face for Cumins on an internet board where we have reached the consensus that he isn’t the man required?

Lastly, if your horse is John Sackson than he doesn’t know what’s going on either.

It’s not me (someone that’ll follow Bears in WA) who you need to be attempting to smell the horse shit. It’s yourself who you need to convince that you’re smelling horse shit and get some sense into you mate and move on.

Well I can tell you the important people in the West believe its a cash grab to lube next months license negotiations. And thats from the horses mouth. It’s not a guarantee to be held in case things go pear shape, it’s not even a bribe as the other clubs all support Perth's inclusion. It’s literally to give NRL some cash to negotiate what they want to see in the next 5 year license agreement. Thats at least the perception over here from one of the key players in this.

Which horse?

Terribly saying to use when you’re going up against the horse king.
