No, it’s put up or piss off.No. Its quite far from a "put up or shut up" though

Pretty much. In the grand scheme of things (business/commercially) it’s not even that big of a deal/negotiation to be honest. The value seems huge in principle but it actually isn’t.Huh? WA talked up " support " for an NRL team. Now the NRL are saying " let's see the support in real terms $$$ "
This is just the negotiating of that, it's how negotiations work .
I can't tell you how many pages I've argued with PR about the fact that a Perth team will be a net cost to the NRL for a long time while they establish themselves.Pretty much. Not in sports terms and definitely not in corporate terms.
Wonder if a breakdown of costs is actually quantified and known. How the $12m per year is theoretically intended to be distributed and spent (via grassroots). Maybe it was a provisional sum that was proposed and there isn’t an actual breakdown yet. Who knows.
100%.Might be the best economy but far from the best state. There’s plenty of other factors in which the NRL can sway the narrative.
Hopefully they continue to positively work through this hurdle. I suspect this is the last hurdle, albeit a big one. Confident WA Bears will get up.
In saying all that, “some” of the WA crowd do need to chill out a bit, bring it down a notch and let it play out.
Yeah, hard to argue any of that.I can't tell you how many pages I've argued with PR about the fact that a Perth team will be a net cost to the NRL for a long time while they establish themselves.
Now ( the part I didn't see coming or even think of) the NRL has qualified that and played it in such a way that the WA Government are going to offset that cost.
Absolutely genius by the NRL.
We're so lucky to have them.
We'll get the Bears back.
We'll get a WA team and it won't hurt too much financially- brilliant.
Could’ve got them a good deal on a used RolexYeah, hard to argue any of that.
I for one like how WA Gov and NRL have been negotiating. This is how an organisation entering the elite rugby league comp in the world needs to be. Not a pussy or pushover. However they also need to be smart about it.
Cumins and the WA Consortium just didn’t strike me as the sort of people you’d envision in a room with the Fletchers, Politis, Pappas, Tripp, Morris’s of this RL World. He would’ve made a terrible NRL club chairman.
Eager to see how this unfolds. 2-3 weeks I say with no certainty that we will know definitively.
I’m repeating your same argument about WA development right in respect of the clubs care factor?
BTW … you might be a blow in but I’ve got a feeling you will fit in here just fine
Been at this over a decade mate, nothing we havent been through before.but thanks I appreciate your concern for my well-being.You’re sounding more and more like a sad sack every day. Like this is whole thing is affecting your health or something. Maybe it is, maybe mentally you’re beaten.
Anyways you always have your Cave to share your rants on. Just keep the anti NRL propaganda coming, if you rant hard enough I’m sure some will eventually forget what actual competition you’re trying to enter…
It's happening, the 20 locked in are WA, PNG and NZ2, SEQ4 is not mentioned any more. A date for the 3 of them to be playing is frequently mentioned of 2030, this date wouldn't be banded about without a nudge and wink from Phillip Street.
What I find incredulous and equally hilarious from reading your Facebook rants, is that you expect PvL/NRL to accept the first bid. Is this is the new JB Down Under!? Will you promise now not to wet the bed if PvL just accepts the first bid regarding the TV rights and doesn't negotiate? That's exactly how you are acting now and I expect less bitching in the TV Right sub-forum going forward.

/\/\/\/\THIS!!!!!!/\/\/\/\PVL loves the attention and to be a punching bag for those not impressed at certain things
BUT
The clubs are the ones in control with almost everything here.
The clubs only want from expansion Money and the new clubs not to have to steal their juniors
More than Zero....Positive stuff.
WA will chuck PvL a bone (won't be as high as the opening salvo as that's not how negotiations work which may be surprise to some here), NRL get something more from the negotiations than if they had straight up accepted the first bid, Perth gets an NRL team announced by end of the month.
Conversely for the same reasons I think WA Gov wouldn’t want the negotiations to drag too long either.Tick tick tick … they got an election over there as well coming up …. the Perth Bears may not be at the top of their priority list …I suggest PVL wouldn’t want to be dragging out the negotiations too long
Hahaha the 'N' in NRL has been around for over 27 years, having Perth or WA included or not won't make that change, basically if you're on the east coast, then it's a nothing burger, they obviously think they are so important to their 3 mil of population that they are banking that the NRL care about sponsors being looked at as national... including 3 million is great, but it's not a driving force if your local team is going to be a pisstake... I've said this before, WA need to pay up, no one is handing out free licensing, they aren't deserving of it, they haven't tried to do anything other than park footy, they seriously need to figure out what they can give the NRL other than their presence... which doesn't give the clubs anything.... a zero sum
Yeah I can could imagine them all going to have a coffee, and them watching cumins, baulking at the billYeah, hard to argue any of that.

Regardless of all recent bids outcomes, PVL isn’t exactly short on geographical locations to plonk new teams in to reach team 18, 19 & 20.
I imagine that there are other carrots and incentives that can be dangled from NRL to WA to get this across the line. Whether it’s reached or will reach that stage of incentivising or not, who knows.
For it to get this far down the road I think it’s all in on WA now. Sure, a u-turn can still happen any time but I struggle to see it coming to that.
Negotiations playing out in the media as it currently is seems like power plays from both involved parties to control the narrative and come out looking good. Both can come out victorious and looking good, I suspect that’s what will ultimately happen.
Take your hand off it and stop smoking weed. Why is everything PVL discusses publicly about expansion all through the lens of the Bears?
It's like he doesn't actually give a f**k about anywhere outside Sydney. And everything is just in service of Sydney getting more teams and games.
This is an absolute speed run to ensure this team has no local identity and calls for its relocation back to Sydney will occur within weeks of its founding
Incase you haven't noticed, there's a lot of people in RL that would prefer to see relocation, PVL doesn't want that, nor do the clubs, this is the next best thing to do that, especially since those same 'Sydney' people also want the bears brand backWhy is everything PVL discusses publicly about expansion all through the lens of the Bears?
