The NRL's demands of WA are ludicrous given what they're offering in return. The NRL are literally demanding more of WA than they've ever asked of anywhere else, and giving them the least in return. The NRL have also made it clear that they aren't actually interested in a WA side, and are only willing to tolerate one if it helps achieve other objectives.

At some point WA have to ask themselves if it's worth it given the ridiculous asking price.

If WA's smart they'll make a reasonable counter offer; something along the lines of they'll help fund a COE, reasonable upgrades to HBF with a decent deal on rent, etc, etc, but no Bears, all 12 home games at HBF, it's not the WA taxpayers job to fund your junior develop programs, etc, then wait and see.

If the NRL still turn them down after that, well, decent negotiators have to know when it's time to walk away from a deal... Step back, bide your time, and let PVL try to fob his tainted goods off on somebody else.

It’s actually been 25 years, during that time I was heavily involved with the Central Coast Bears in a volunteer capacity on most weekends during their campaign, I have also been a financial member of the Bears since before their demise.
I have tried to move onto other teams during this time but history has prevented me from doing so, I like the Dolphins and I have a small interest in teams with players that I know that play for them.
As an ex Bears fan you certainly show a lot of hurt towards them, it is more like you are a ex Manly fan than a ex Bear with 99.9 of your posts.

I have tried to move onto other teams during this time but history has prevented me from doing so, I like the Dolphins and I have a small interest in teams with players that I know that play for them.

let’s appreciate what is. ive never understood how critiquing a bunch of rugby league fans wanting to see their club back in the fold is a bad thing. they’ll be paying customers, they keep fighting not just for their team but for our sport. this should be appreciated not made fun of. it’s the backwards archaic view of people stuck in the 80s that set the game 30 years back to begin with. bring on the bears fans, west aussie league fans and if jets get up in ippy then those fans too.

I doubt he is a former Bears fan. If he actually is then his post read as self-loathing to me. Upset that he made a decision to not be loyal and follow another team in order to keep following Rugby League thinking it wasn’t possible the Bears could come back. Now that it looks like they are, he is regretting his Rugby League sl ut move.

It’ll definately be very close to how it will play out, I’ve got a Bears gatho on Dec 15th so hopefully I may pick up some goss from there.
