I really think the arlc would ideally want a brand new stadium

for an expansion club hbf park is poor. Even if they upgrade it it looks dated and disjointed

a rectangular ground is an improvement over the waca but they really need something like aami or maybe commbank

something new and iconic

looking at hbf it’s so uninspiring
Like I said, having spent $160mill on it so far they aren’t walking away now.
new corporate west stand and roof over the south stand and will be a perfectly good compact 25k ish stadium with 20k seats undercover which is perfect size for us.
location is good also

nrl have just green lighted the dolphins to play in two sub standard stadiums so I don’t think it’s high on their criteria list lol

Did ypu just say someone should use that shithouse white/light grey combo? Knowing the NRL, they'll play Stgeorge in kogarah, and both teams will be tackling their own team mates and throw intercepts all game long...
Most boring kit ever

Not the Perth team

but a jersey like that all white I like it.

yes it looks like from a major overseas soccer team so maybe people wouldn’t like it

Perth for me is red and black with a little bit of white and yellow

basically bears colours with a nod towards the wa history

probably just the sponsor in yellow and maybe the sleeves

Cool.

terrible as in on the field performance or off the field?
More on field

off field they already have loads of sponsors on board and the arlc got an extra 100 million from broadcasters by adding them which more then covered their costs

like unless there’s a major spanner in the works an 18th is a very strong possibility and sooner rather than later

Dolphins are going to be placed near the bottom end of the competition ladder in the first 2-3 years judging by the squad they are assembling but unless they are playing in front of sub 10k crowds then this shouldn’t be a problem.

Exactly. The thing against the Dolphins atm and indeed any more expansion is the division of spine talent.

Their backs and potential spine players (unless they get Munster for 24) doesn’t look great. There are enough forwards, even potentially backs around to have more sides but it is the key position players that are the worry

That’s what the arlc wants to see

they really don’t want to see the dolphins like that

the dolphins really should be averaging 20k

I think mid table is possible with bennett

They are really going to be a boring team to watch based on their backs and spine players. They are going to have to grind their way to victory - not suggesting they can’t but that is how they are going to have to win

I don't think so, at the moment they are a mid table roster, if you look at gold coast, warriors, even dragons, they have a similar if not better squad on paper, and if bennet can gel that, you'll see cody walker, or someone join in and polish the attack.... just remember this the first year, theyll be bums on seats and eyes watching its novelty time... dont forget the rumours of sean o sullian and the milf are still around,
And sean won 2nite, did it of the back of a an experienced and 2nd grade pack

myth,
the nrl got zero extra dollars for 17 clubs in ‘23 than it got in 2018 for 16 clubs.

How will they avg 20k when they intend to play some games at venues with a 12k capacity? it would require them to draw more than the broncos for the games at suncorp if it’s more than 1or 2 games!
