Yep I would expect some concrete details over the new month or two especially about the compound if it’s a dependency to start the club, if it’s going to be a 2028 launch.

I’d like to see a big launch event with media invited where they share the club identity, compound renderings/plans, and maybe a signing or two.

Do we know anything about the PNG-based team's branding process (for instance, if they're going to have a "name the team" competition)?

I realIse that if they're having their debut in the 2028 season that the name & branding could be as late as the 2026/27 off-season, BUT if they do it sooner then they could get the revenue stream from merchandise up and running.

Fair point, and awareness to do that could have been earlier - but they still were the one Sydney club to stop just thinking about it and actually commit.

It's just a shame they were a club that paid the price for it, rather than getting all the support from the ARL then NRL they needed to make it happen regardless of the rain delays.

I think Norths should've gone to Super League as a means on short tern survival, while Central Coast stadium was getting built. The three Sydney teams that went all survived.

Plus with Ken Arthurson as ARL CEO, Manly were never going to Super League.

Super League most definitely won the war.

Unsurprisingly the Bears picked the wrong side.

Not much in that.

He says he thinks the NRL has conceded and will accept the WA "reduced" offer.

But then he admits he has no idea when the ARLC next meet to ratify such a decision.

He also goes on a bizarre side tangent about how Wayne Bennett opinion is more important to V'landys than Gus. ??? Does he think Wayne is on the commission? Or Gus for that matter?

He also frames the entire discussion around the Bears being back, and never mentions WA.

At the same time Webster goes on a rant about how AFL is taking over from Ipswich to Rockhampton???? And they need another side there first?

Two drunks talking shit should be the band of the podcast.

I was listening to Shane Richardson on the James Graham podcast last night…. After an hour of talking about Galvin , Graham starting asking questions on some other more interesting topics

Richo corrected Graham when he mentioned that two new sides were about to join the competition saying that the Bears deal was not yet done… and he had concerns with their financials ( he didn’t elaborate on this specifically but praised the financial position of the Dolphins when they were admitted ) … also said that there had to be something in it for the other clubs just like PNG where all the other clubs have got a $1.7m payment ( to date ) …

that’s how the NRL operates their expansion plans apparently …lol
