More rugby league fans in Sydney than all of nz

Funny you see a place for another nz nrl side but not the bears brand in wa

Lucky the bears were in favour of the warriors entry into the arl lol

How many weeks were the warriors in the arl before deciding to jump ship ? Was it four weeks ?
The bears brand is the losiest losers that ever did lose. No wonder you like them.

You just stated my point - Sydney is saturated, NZ is not.

Guess which one means growing the game, winning new fans & increasing revenue.

As far as Perth goes, if the Bears brand is needed to get there, then it's the price they pay I suppose - beggars can't be choosers & all that (and after more than 25 years without a top tier team, the NRL have put Perth pretty much into a beggars position).. but the questions is - does it REALLY have to come to that??

Saying Sydney has more fans than the whole of nz proves your point ?

No wonder why rl in nz struggles lol

Let’s be honest a central coast bears team would be stronger than the warriors

Bears could link up anywhere and it would be a stronger bid than the warriors

Melb has the same concentration of afl sides as Sydney has league sides

But fumbler fans don’t feel embarrassed by it

Yes. It means that there's more scope for ADDING NEW FANS here (or Perth, or Adelaide for that matter) than in Sydney.

How many more fans can a city have when it's already teeming with them?

How’s a Perth team adopting the bears brand cost Perth any new fans ?

Lmao

upgraded stadium, school support, cheap venue use.
Its a very good deal for the NRL.
grows both the game and the league.
gives flexible new options to the broadcast timeslots that benefit the league

From a sports industry perspective, ticks all boxes for mine.

credit to Vlandys, and Cook

It will be interesting how they handle that game. Will they play the same team every year and try and build an 'event game'. Souths would be a good choice given they don't play in moore park often.

Hopefully Western gets the punt. West Coast Bears or Perth Bears are better choices. Cook would probably want Perth.

Play it as part of the new Eora round concept if it’s successful.

Roosters V Bulldogs
Tigers V Dragons
Rabbitohs V Eels
Bears V Sea Eagles

All at Allianz over one round.

I never said it would cost Perth any new fans.

Look adopting the Bears brand isn't necessary for fans in Perth, plain and simple. They'll likely support a team named Bears, Pirates, Reds or Dust-Mites.

The only reason it's being done is an appeal to tradition which effectively means throwing a bone to Sydney fans who pine for the "good old days" of a suburban competition.

So doesn’t hurt Perth and helps them gain fans in Sydney.

Also helps league in Sydney

I’m convinced

So with the great news of yesterday we now hold our breath until the club meeting (anyone know what date that is?) for the clubs to ratify club 18 and 19 admission. Should be signed sealed and delivered by Xmas hopefully! Good timing with 3 nrl events in perth first half of next year to sign up members and get some hype going!

This sounds like the opinion on someone not in Sydney who does not understand Sydney.

The 3 bears fans on LU:
Toxic Bear - lives in qld
Stalker Bear - stalks on the central coast
Moron Bear - lives in a basement

A bears fan in Sydney is as rare as a coherent post from you!
more probably don't come here because of some people's bipolar attitudes towards bears.

can say what we want about them but the fact their fans kept fighting for as long as did they is pretty cool. ditto perth league fans.
