They wouldn’t have announced the games in Perth if the deal wasn’t already done

Pvl won’t want to tick off a friendly state govt that pays them lots of money for origins etc
The deal isn’t done, nearly but not yet signed off apparently. In the exact words of my source who would know ‘a couple of things to sort out yet’. I’m guessing but a cast iron legal guarantee about the club always being in perth and being supported by nrl would probably be one of them. They got badly burnt with the Force and the ARU shafting them. They won’t invest $400mill+ without something in stone.

the games announced were bought by the wa govt early on the year, origin last year.

Actually it's only 1 out of 9. Thursdays are 6pm too.
6pm isn't horrible. PVL just scheduled on origin game in Perth at 6pm on a weds next year. He obviously thinks the same.
9th game won't be Monday as it will be too hard on the schedule.
It might be a bit of both, extra Saturday game here, a Monday night game there, come png/nz2 they'll need a 10th game so more likely they are both used anyway

Let’s be real here how many extra viewers are going to watch on average from Perth 15k

How many already aren’t Foxtel subscribers to the afl

Eventually if will grow ratings but it’s not about Perth tv ratings

Like png this is a bid which because of govt support makes sense for the nrl

If they want to focus on tv value then it’s Brisbane 3 or nz2

And before people have a cry it doesn’t mean in ten or twenty years Perth don’t add a decent amount to the Australian tv deal. But now they don’t.

Their value is bringing back the beard brand and also extra content for existing tv viewers in eastern states
Central Coast would have been the better choice then. PVL is about to spend millions on a team in Perth, owning the team. But you think Perth isn't valuable to him?

Your source seems like it's solid, is it the same one from 12 years ago

It would make it awfully hard with turn around times. And a lot more flying long distances.
Take scheduling in-house, sort out the best times for each team, the more lucrative ones or best weather for the interstate teams,
(Nz's =Friday 6pm) /(Canb=Sunday 2pm)/
(Cows,PNG= saturday 7pm)/ (Perf= saturday 9pm)
Then populate the rest (esp Sydney teams) around those slots

That Perth with no team now, won't grow as a TV market with a team is such a stupid idea, that you should feel stupid for stating it.

Having a team in the 4 biggest TV markets in Australia is a huge reason we should be glad its Perth.

PNG will rarely (if ever) play at night.

Reasons(but not limited to):

- No reliable electricity
- Safety of attendees

That PNG that doesn't have an Nrl team now, you should feel dumb for mentioning it...hawhawhaw

Cooler to play at night, they have lights like most other stadiums, not sure it's any different than manly fans getting blasted after a bulldogs game at night y'all

You're so salty that Perth is coming in before PNG.

Yes, you really would have to have no idea about how businesses plan to think that the NRL aren`t thinking 10,20, 50 years into the future here.

Friday 6pm EST, 4pm WA time.
Probably not the best.
Starting a game at 6pm WA time is 8pm Eastern Time, very good.

I'm not actually, I love that this has happened, I wasn't worried which order especially since the bears are involved, and that they are feeders for the 1st grade team to ensure they (perf) have the best start they could get, without them having local reserves to count on ..so yeah ZERO SALT..
You on the other hand are reaching for something to Karen on

The 3 bears fans on LU:
Toxic Bear - lives in qld
Stalker Bear - stalks on the central coast
Moron Bear - lives in a basement

A bears fan in Sydney is as rare as a coherent post from you!
So glad that I got a mention here lol, I haven’t been on here and you guys have added another 11 pages wtf ?.
As a Bears fan and WA league fans are in the same boat, after so many false dawns and 25ys and 27yrs respectively without a top level league side, both groups are waiting with anticipation.
I am leaning towards the WA Bears for the name, though the Perth Bears has been thrown around lately by the media.
Fingers crossed for a mid December announcement, we have waited this long.
Perth Red, your source wouldn’t be John Sackson would it ?.
