if west Aussie government has committed to upgrading or finishing hbf why would anyone think they would suddenly surprise people by building a brand new stadium instead? if they are as good as budgeting as they said they is then flipping a script like that wouldn’t have made any sense.

i dont think thats the case at all. was just speculation from the sites number 1 bullshitter tbh.

somehow he knows west aussie gov are willing to pay for hbf upgrades but then cries when they dont build an entire new stadium elsewhere? makes no sense.

It really isn't that difficult. Players aren't in bubbles and you can play at any Oztag comp in Sydney and possibly Brisbane and run into them. there is no shortage of lower grader, players brother/partners who are plebs like the rest of us and say stuff to work mates at the same boring mundane jobs we are doing

Given the current economic climate, and the debacle that the Hobart and Brisbane stadiums have been, I just can't see any political party proposing new stadia for quite a while.

dont thinks brissy stadium is a debacle as far as costs and finances etc its more where the banana benders wanna plonk the thing thats the issue.

is anyone from brissy here can give feedback of where youd plonk it? most us are just assuming but wouldnt know the intimate details of transports, geography, locations and feasibilities

ah gotcha - sucks bears never played at gosford. that stadium goes alright and youd imagine had they played there then it would be due for a little tickle upgrade by now 25 years later

It was, and is, all about cost.

And location is a factor in that cost, as it has an effect on transport links etc.

The old government scrapped the Gabba and surrounding area re-development because the bill was going be around $3B.

A new stadium in Victoria Park is stated to cost around $3.4B.

And even the old government proposal to build a "temporary" facility at QE2 was going to be in the order of $1.5B.
