I think if there's an announcement it's gotta be within January. Once we hit Feb it's all about the preseason and Vegas, there's too much going on to fit an announcement in.

If I was a betting man I'd say an announcement will be happen next week, which will also serve as a great lead into the media coverage for the pre season and Vegas generating more extended media coverage for the NRL.

So we only have to read another 600 meaningless posts in the mean time?

With things like the Australian Open in the news cycle wouldn't such an announcement get very little coverage though?

If the team is scheduled to come in 2027, they are already right up against it time wise. Thats less than two full seasons to get their shit together, and no you cant compare a new team in a non-RL state to the Dolphins lead time.

Surely its more like 2028 at the earliest now?

I knew a deal/agreement had been done back in December and I tested Perth red and he knew all about it but hadn’t spilt the beans

He’s not totally clueless

It’s not as black n white as you portray it
dont waste your time Pie is a dck.
When its done and dusted I'll share who my source was, not that I need to justify anything. Either believe me or don't, no skin of my nose.
I told you all direct from my source after the Cook/Vlad meeting that he told me there was still a lot of hurdles to overcome, and here we are 4 weeks later still no announcement as those hurdles are being tackled.

Its pushing it unless the ARLC is already working in preparation on board members etc.
The Western Bears planned to be operational by end of October with board, CEO and coach in place. We'll be lucky to have the 'whatever' Bears with that in place by April you'd think even if announcement is made in next week or two. meaning less than 2 years lead in. Not ideal but NRL may just take the early pain or have a fastrack strategy, who knows.

only dck is a bloke who feels the needs to lie online about stuff because if he doesnt then what does he know? who cares if you dont know anything about west aussie bears, its no biggie. but to lie about having secret government agents as sources is beyond a joke. no shame in being a simple fan like rest of us cob.

I don't think clashing with the Australian Open is such a big deal.

for alls we know nrl could already have people buttered up for board positions including chair/ceo once its ready to go. the western bears looked like they didn't have enough cash to even be sustainable thats why they got rejection, so what were they intending to pay their staff in? monopoly money?

What hurdles are the ARLC & WA Gov working through at the moment?
There was issues about how much junior funding the wa govt would fund

Wa govt probably wants guarantees the team will remain in Perth

Apparently it’s all been sorted a month ago just getting documents drawn up and signed by the various parties who come back from holidays soon
