WA BEARS

I would imagine that majority of Bears and Western Australian rugby league fans alike would most likely not want anyone previously associated with ARL, Super League or News Ltd (from that period of time) on a WA Bears board.

That isn’t to say that Quayle isn’t a good administrator, but he isn’t what’s needed moving forward. It’s a no from me.
John Quayle? Was he serious? Might as well nominate John Ribot as well. That’d be a hoot.

Wouldn't most Bears fans consider him to be a co-conspirator with Arko also?

Like wouldn't be be second only to Hitler in terms of popularity

I'm glad I don't go out to lunch with you.

I'll pay for the food, the wine the tip and the cab home.
You'll pay for the complimentary water.
how do you work that outs? if you take hbf upgrades away (because they arent just for nrl as soccer and rugby use ground too) then isn't nrl reportedly only asking west aussie gov for $120m over a decade time frame ($12m a year) to fund junior footy infrastructures? wouldn't nrl's grant and overheads operations costs to run west aussie bears be significantly more cost than that west aussie funding value in the same time frame?

wasnt club grants $18m in 2023 and it constantly increasing? wouldn't nrl be putting at least another few more million dollars on top of that club grant to pay west aussie bears management + staff + offices leasing costs etc so costs could be closer to like $27m by 2027 with all that considered and even if they stay the same for a decade after (into 2037) $27m x a decade is $270m totals compared to the $120m totals nrl is asking from west aussie gov.

even if half the reported $500m (including stadium upgrades) totals from west aussie gov funding goes to junior footy ($250m for a decade) the nrl would still be paying more for the west aussie bears club. but considering at least $350m is going to stadium upgrades and $120m has been asked for junior footy that leaves extra $30 that maybe going to performance centers or something similar? so wtf are you even talking about in your butthole analogy.

Spoken like a man who has no f**king idea.
seriously this alwaysloser just cant help himself cannot go a day without hanging out for certain posters to post to give his loser life meaning lol

get a hobby merkin no one cares about your daily pursuit to be acknowledged by 4/5 posters.

I think you`ll find there will be a lot of Australian sports fans having a casual and otherwise interest in how this PNG team goes. Most Australians are well aware of the poverty and issues facing that country and will be interested to see how they fare in one of this country`s major sporting codes. Effectively they are a team representing that nation.
I remember a poster saying the fumbleball sites were buzzing after the announcement of the PNG NRL team, certainly far from all positive, but interested in the concept nonetheless.
PNG just didn't have a lot of cut through even in the RL states, it certainly isn't a thing in the AFL states.

Perth has a potential to have a lot more media exposure, if managed well, and focused on WA.

Of course not.

Venues NSW run Hunter Stadium too, having a local from the area makes sense but they are purely for running events at the venues...

Not exactly someone that knows how to get young fans onboard or knows what businesses in Perth need or want to get onboard.

Yeh but it’s not like it’s the bears call is it

It’s the nrl who are picking it

When it comes to qualified board members name me someone who’s more qualified ?

This isn't a thing. You, some random peanut have plucked his name from the air.

Right now John Quayle is at home in his dressing gown thinking about visiting his grandkids.

He being on the bears board is in your head only.

Well we know he isn't all there.

Yes less import some guys from the East who has no idea how to get WA on board.... to run.

Even better lets have a guy who may or may not of been part of the high travel costs that made them lose a team in the 1st place...

That will have fans flocking to the side

Can the bears pull out of venture?!
I would doubt it

Who knows what guarantees the wa govt got if the team fails who gets the license

The issues will be down the track as to who owns it

It won’t fail anyway it’s not like wests tigers with two clubs and two clubs making up the combined board

It’s a Perth club using the bears logos colours and history

Will be very interesting to see how it gets announced. Will vlad fly to perth to do a joint media conference with Roger? Will Roger announce it on his own with the focus on stadium and jnr sport spending as red bear suggests? Will vlad announce it on his own as bears coming back? Going to be interesting to see.
Good question. The PNG announcement was a political press conference, very sterile. It might be the reason the response was so flat and underwhelming.

The quicker people get onboard that the Bears are/will be Perth the better for everyone. Bears won’t be allowed to leave their new location. It’ll mean certain elimination from the NRL & no way ever of coming back. The club will be Perth focussed that has great away support from the hundred thousand of Bears fans there. Potential to be the biggest club in the NRL. I can’t wait, bring it on.

Cant wait to see what the membership packages might be.
this is a piss-take surely?

exactly its nrls call and pickings so why would they pick quayle? its 2025 surely theres more qualified people to be board members they dont necessarily have to be rugby leagues background. half the issue is having rugby league people in boards and them not knowing much outside that bubbles i would imagine

So Perth gets to use bears IP & say their history goes back to 1908. NS would act as feeder team. I imagine they want to be paid for that.
