Perth will have minimal value to subscriber growth outside of the connection to the bears

There will be more new subscribers in the north shore than the whole of wa
The goal is to build. Hard to judge the interest when a city has had no club and very little investment from a sport in 27 years. If we go from 10k to 30k a game in Perth on FTA thats an extra 1.5mill or so to the annual figures. We will always be hampered in Perth for casual viewers of FTA games by the time differences and Ch9's sht coverage. I haven't relied on Ch9 to watch NRL for 20 years.

Great post wasted on this drop kick. He and Pip have an ongoing negative agenda regarding anything outside QLD and NSW. Same as it ever was.

For live sport what time slots would work for Perth ?

Two Saturday games and the Sunday games

Thursday and Friday don’t work

Well for watching on TV, when its 2 hours difference, which is for most of the season, Really only Saturday and Sunday games work to watch live on TV. Thurs and Fri games you have to watch on repeat if you work which is why most RL fans here have PTV for NRL. Problem is by 7.30-8pm Perth time all games are finished so its never going to be in prime time. When its 3 hours at beginning and end of season even worse.

It'll be interesting to see how they use that time difference for games from here and if they experiment a bit with some late evening AEDT KO games. For example

Fri 7pm perth time = 9pm East coast
Sat 7.30pm Perth = 9.30pm East Coast

The obvious one is Sunday 4pm Perth = 6pm AEDT to create a 'Super Sunday'

Id be happy to see FTA games on Thur, Fri and Sat night
and PTV early Fri, Sat up to the 8pm FTA game and 3 games Sunday.

Sunday 4pm has been the AFLs default WA timeslot for a while now. Locals hate it, but they show up anyway

Do you mean local waafl teams or the dockers and eagles

Perth bears wouldn’t want to be playing many games going head to head with the latter as the crowds and tv ratings would be poor

he is referencing aprils fools buffalo bill he doesn’t know anything and is putting stuff out.

I seens some people assume that they need to properly announce it before they start action things like board members etc. but since it’s nrls club what’s stopping them from already lining up people for key roles in admin under nda until such time they are formally announced ?

maybe things will ramp very quickly because there’s works being done in background already.? Possibility?

Only poor in west aussie but they’ll be gang buster ratings as normal in east where majority of viewers watch footy anyways. I get that the point is to get west Aussies to watch footy to increase it but still need to remember where the core population is.

thats crappola, so kiwis gets games at 11:30pm if they kick off at 730 west Aussie time? Basically hurting a core market to service a small market? perthwrongs, ding dong

it’ll be 730 east time where majority of eye balls are. meaning 530 west coast and 930 kiwi can’t work any other way.
