Funding Tasmanian stadiums doesn't come anywhere near as big of a waste as funding a compound for rich sportspeople. Even throwing away money to cancel submarine orders is far more worthwhile to the Australian taxpayer than that.

Well no agreement announcement and caretaker mode begins today. Started with another big announcement $745mill for schools.

Guess we sit back and wait till March now unless the MOU is secretly signed and they're waiting for right moment in the campaign to announce the funding pledge. Seems unlikely so expect a big media show maybe end of March/early May time to announce Perth as the next NRL club. Presuming no shock election result and agreement is reached.
