WA BEARS

A Quokka is native to WA. Almost all logos are random.
Probably only the Eels and Rabbitohs have a geographical or historical meaning.

Unless Humphrey the Bear came from Mosman or Perth, I may have missed that.
I don’t know, the sun rises in the east and the rooster crows. Though I’m guessing not many residents in Sydney’s eastern suburbs raise chooks these days.
St George & the Dragon goes together.
There’d be sharks off the Cronulla coast.
Dolphins in Moreton Bay I guess.
Sea eagles over Manly Warringah as they are nesting around Sydney Harbour.
Parramatta you mentioned and Souths.
Jets fly over Newtown.

Thats a few.

Raiders in Canberra? Well the ATO are there aren’t they?

Yes but the aim is to try and get enough people on the East to care about a new team 4000km away.

TV and the NRL clubs are banking on the 200k fans number that PVL used as not being BS.

Better than having no team at all because it is deemed to hard

First get a please explain from cumins and why he didn’t read the memo and offered zero fee first up or why he never bothered to talk to the very person who runs the organisation he was trying to enter
There's nothing wrong with being a Cummins fanboy (albeit very strange) but yeah I don't get the thought process that he's responsible for not convincing himself that Cumins & Co should've been handed a license.

That's the aim? Then put them on the east coast.

This is the problem with the NRL's strategy. You either go all in for expansion to Perth because you believe a team will add financially to your competition or you if you don't believe it will you don't expand there.

Going half arsed in anything in life doesn't work.

If the bears are such a big brand why haven't anyone else linked up with them?

they did though. central coast, pasifika, country nsw, now perth.

just because bears are involved doesnt mean its half assed. government funding infrastructure and nrl owning the club as opposed to a volatile private model which couldnt keep their promises. dont see how its half arsed at all, if anything its due dillgence and putting in best measures for long term sustainability. not that you'd see it like that because you obviously think ya know more than the people running the game. all from the comfort of being on this forum all the time.

which brings up another point ya so against bears yet find yourself on a thread with bears in the title multiple times a day, dozens of times a week etc. strange behaviour

Because they didn't shop around different locations to see if any existing bids were keen to pair up. Contrary to anyone who likes to coin them as "desperate" the entire time they've first and foremost dealt directly with the NRL on where they could take the brand before discussions with any other parties got going. Plus after how they were left out to dry by Manly I wouldn't expect linking up with anyone to be their first preference.

People keep talking about this brand like it's Apple or Toyota or Dior.
