thats slightly incorrect i went back and checked and redblackbears said on here that there were issues with bid like a month out from it being formally rejected
Yeh everyone was saying the deal will get announced next week

Then red bear made a post about Tony Crawford coming as an arl appointee on the Cummins bid which was the first sign that the nrl was seeing issues with Cummins

Then a week later it came out Cummins bid was dead

All along Perth red was saying let’s see totally wrong as well

Did anyone think it equated to a dead deal without moving forward with anyone involved in the bid though? Worst it seemed like was just a hiccup but apparently PVL had more to dislike about it.

Pretty sure red bear did

Not when he made the initial post

All along Perth fans were saying it’s a negotiating tactic and Cummins will just up his offer for a lic fee … which he did but the nrl was off him by then

Red bear is confident it’s done everything else is just noise imo

People talking total bs and that includes journos

It was a complete blind side for the West Australia Consortium. No one new before the NRL comments on grand final day.

Maybe the NRL had other conversation with the NS side before it came out ... which is a major concern in itself.

Consortium which never revealed names of backers surprised when potential business partner pulled pinned?!

only way it wouldve been a blindside is because cumins reportedly didn't speak to vlandys once during the entire time. pick up the phone mate. he runs the organisation in which ya trying to enter a business in.

absolute farcical from consortium to not once call the boss. no wonder its cumins brother who is the real brains behind cashies.

further if some banana bender on a forum knew there were issues, clearly the consortium wouldve had inkling too. no one is that head in the sand. if beattie said twice theyd need a fee proposal then they shouldn't have been so egotistical to offer a donut lol. lunacy all round.

one pulled pin, one was a crook and one the nrl wanted nothing to do with from previous engagements lol. farcical.

anyways moving on
From my understanding Paul Smith & Paul Kind were never formally included in the Bears bid. They'd asked to meet the Perth Consortium, Cummins agreed and then they leaked their intent to the Sydney media.

In my opinion bid was poor. In the NRL's opinion bid was poor. Reds, gws, crushers show us that no bid is better than poor bid.

It wasn’t awful

It’s just Cummins decided to be stubborn and ignore what the arl wanted. Bears branding and license fee were the major issues he ignored

He’s obviously a keen league fan

Cash converters 95 sponsors. 30 years later still here.

Didn't want to pay licence fee. Didn't reveal backers. I don't know any of the principals. Just speaking about bid.

You’ve gone from pretending to have inside sources to relying on journalists whose articles say the 120 million is a license fee
There was some direct quotes from govt sources in that article, unless they just made them up as well. It coincided with my inside man telling me the exact same thing so two sources.

if you think wa govt is going to fork out $12mill a year for ten years for jnr rl you’re either very optimistic or very deluded lol

the smh article seems to hav the detail of what’s actually being offered.
