Just got off the phone and fair to say that, presuming labor dont lose, I’m now very confident perth will be club 19. A very interesting conversation!
I don't know Perth Red personally but he definitely knows people either directly or with 1 degree of separation from the bid team / NRL WA. To mock his updates is ridiculous ...

If they are expected to commence in Round 1 2027, than they are being given very little time to put together a competitive team, and or establish administrators etc.

Surely its 2028 at the earliest now?

Yeah well answer this. Why is perthwrongs, so oftenly wrong on anything to do with this bid and redblackbears has pretty much a 100% record with it?

Perthwrongs doesn’t know shit, never did. His posts prove this. He is always wrongPlus here is the big difference

perthtwrongs claims things are or aren’t going but never elaborates on them.
Redblackbears literally gives us figures or time lines and they come to fruition.

think about that for a min…

perthwrongs, ding dong

Water off a ducks back mate, the people mocking are well known on here as the peanut gallery, one of them is totally deranged bordering on obsessive lol.

Cant go into any detail but it was with a very well connected person (not NRL or Govt employee) who assured me that as long as labor gets in its all systems go. NRL are allegedly already sounding out board members and a CEO now. After talking to him I was left with a great deal of confidence its just ducks and drakes being played out in the media currently. Sometimes running a facebook group gets you some interesting phone calls!

Much more likely you would have to think. I can see both clubs entering in 2028 for the new Tv deal. Will put some stress on player recruitment but hopefully given NRL is effectively running both expansion clubs they will have a strategy for it.

You just copy redblackbears all the time cob albeit weeks if not months later lol. The fact ya say ya can’t go into detail again, like all ya bullshit updates proves ya don’t know anything. Ya a f**ken liar cob. At least bears gives details like figures and time frames etc. all ya do is pull ya pin dick here and post bullshit.

Also apparently bears already said all that was being sounded out weeks ago lol and at the time you were carrying on like a f**kwit.
@Wb1234 didnt ya say bears glossed over stuff weeks ago like board etc? Lol

You would think the NRL has some strategy around the admin and coach already …even would have sounded out some people I would suggest …

They can’t sign any players under the current rules until Nov for 2027

I think as long as they are announced by May they will make it work for 2027… that’s not a given though given the pre election blow up

Bears have to come in after PNG because PNG are going to provide hundreds of first grade footballers to the competition within 5 years.

That's peanut gallery fantasy 101 ffs, get with the program lads.

Theres some practical stuff like the training centre and offices to sort out but all doable, not sure if Ken Allen field has been started yet. The permanent Malaga training centre is unlikely to be ready before mid 2027 you'd think.
Getting a Board, CEO, Coaching staff and enough structure to give players confidence to sign for the club all ready in 5 months is a big ask. Id hate us to limp into season 1 with a weak squad becasue it was rushed and we just had to sign whoever we could.

Stadium isnt an issue, we would play at Optus whilst HBF was getting rebuilt, though AFL clashes would cause a bit of a scheduling headache for NRL.

It mightn’t be ideal …but I’m sure they can make it work though ….the first pre season training might be very scratchy …

the alternative would be 2029 as I doubt they would bring in a team with PNG

Depends on recruitment strategy. If NRL thinks PNG can supply half the PNG club squad and they look to England to fill a number of places in the Perth squad then the drain might be doable to have two teams enter in one season. Especially as both clubs would have 18 months to recruit (dont worry about the Nov BS, we saw Dolphins already having lots of player manager conversations before the NoV window opened!). Out of interest if a club pays a SL club a transfer fee to get a player under contract does that count of the cap in anyway?

Personally I'd rather the pain of bringing in two clubs together than rushing Perth and year one be a flogging.

Do you honestly believe this is going to be possible in 2028 ? They will need a free swing at one NRL recruitment class
I think if you look at a NRL squad of 30 players its made up of:
20 quality NRL ready players that will be the main stay of the starting 17 each week
5 or so reserve graders that can step up to NRL if needed but wont ever be starters unless injuries etc
5 or so bright young talent players that you have hopes for the future but not really ready for week to week NRL

Then you have a reserve grade side under the squad made up of a few hard heads and your up and coming talent, very rare any of them will step up to the 30 man squad in a season

So taking that, Perth and PNG will need 30 players each
could 10 of those for PNG come out of PNG, quite possibly.
Could Perth sign 10 SL players? Quite possibly.
Plus Perth will be looking to Sydney for reserve grade through NS who have had a good few years at NSW cup level.

So that leaves somewhere around 30-40 current NRL first graders to be signed to the new clubs for 2028.

I still think they will let PNG have the sole focus to join the Comp on their own …also not a good look having two new teams getting lapped every week

Quite possibly, I think a lot will depend on what I heard yesterday and how true it is.
If they are now actively recruiting for the infrastructure of the club so its ready to go as soon as Cook is ready to announce it then its possible. If not and they have to put all those pieces in place first then its unlikely going to be 2027.
But its NRL managed now so if they want to throw everything at it to get it ready for 2027 they can do I suppose and have the connections, resources and strings to pull to make it so.
