Maybe a third.
Try one fifth and that`ll be pushing it at this stage.

Hope you are right about the Perth Bears though, I was pretty shattered when V`landys said even that was touch and go the other day.

TBH I thought it was a monumental blunder on his behalf coming out and saying that team 20 was dead, and then saying Perth was iffy, I thought that was unwise given it gave the WA Gov`t a much stronger hand knowing that they were the only option remaining. If you`re correct V`landys knew all along.

Yeah well answer this. Why is perthwrongs, so oftenly wrong on anything to do with this bid and redblackbears has pretty much a 100% record with it?

Perthwrongs doesn’t know shit, never did. His posts prove this. He is always wrongPlus here is the big difference

perthtwrongs claims things are or aren’t going but never elaborates on them.
Redblackbears literally gives us figures or time lines and they come to fruition.

think about that for a min…

perthwrongs, ding dong
I think its become obvious that around GF time last year there were some Sydney centric discussions in NRL / NS circles that the WA bid team were not privy to.

I’m now of the mind the nrl never intended for private ownership and it was just a fishing exercise.
I wouldn't say never, the PNG bounty changed everything. That said, were the WA government planning on putting RL on so many schools curriculum, do up Perth Oval to NRL's standards as well as the CoE, training grounds, etc if the NRL did go for the private ownership model?

I don't think the NRL could drive such a hard bargain for public money in NZ as it simply isn't there. Maybe the South Australia or Queensland governments are next to be rinsed for #20?

The other wildcard in the possible direction of Cleary’s future is the potential addition of a 19th NRL team based out of Perth.

NRL supremo Peter V’landys has gone public in his attempt to pressure the Western Australian government to cough up public funds to base a team in Perth.

WA Premier Roger Cook last month told V’landys to “shut up” about their ongoing discussions.

Plans for an NRL club to be based out of Perth have been in a spin since V’Landys in October tore up offers from a private consortium, headed up by Cash Converters executive deputy chair Peter Cumins, to take up the 19th NRL franchise license in a partnership with the North Sydney Bears.

The NRL has pivoted towards a preferred proposal for a Perth-based team owned by the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC).

That project, as made abundantly clear by the NRL, is dependent on the WA government shelling out cash to support the plan.

It will take more than dollars to get Cleary interested in moving to the West or PNG.

mary playing for the w-league perth glory and cleary leading out the west aussie bears. slim chances but because the w-league is actually a half decent league as far as womens sports go. possible, even if remotely only.

Yes. mostly. The schools increase from 16 to 24 and 1:1 matched funding for nrlwa were the extra in the later negotiations, the rest was on the table regardless of owner. The Western Bears were going to pay for the interim training grounds but the Govt will now pick up that tab also.

Well from a WA perspective it is a little bit concerning that someone with NS connections has more information than people with WA connections ... who's going to be running this team?
