Yeah. Still a good view, and should the weather turn foul, it's the driest place to sit. That first Origin game we had here (2019?), it belted down for a bit. We were about 3 rows from the very back and everyone from maybe 10 rows in front of us all the way to the field were getting drenched or covering their state colours with white or yellow plastic ponchos!
We had the nose bleed seats for the AFL, West Coast v Fremantle, it was just to far away, but it was a shit match and a shit atmosphere, so that certainly didn’t help things.

F**k!
I literally only last night bought my tickets to the double-header! Okay, got seats on level 5 for $49 each, which isn't too bad, but dammit!!
Behind the post level 3 $30 :ok_hand:

Origin has only a handful of $180 tickets - rest over $300 in top tier

yeh Ive been watching how slow sales are and figured they would have a fire sale at some point! 2 seats on Lvl 3 at Optus for two NRl games for $67 bargain of the season!
Less than one seat behind the sticks for the Dolphins HBF park game lol

Perth was the best name they could’ve chosen from the start

The bears fan that owns the ip said he’s happy to hand it over to the arl after he got burned last time handing over the western bears ip to Cummins

Wonder when Pvl and abdo are travelling to wa for the official announcement

This bid has dragged on it’s been interminable

Perth Bears is the best result. WA would have been OK but the rest were pretty shit. West Coast is associated with Eagles, Western is generic that could just as easily be a name for a Western Sydney or Brisbane club.

As for timing I hope it’s ready to be announced in the lead up to the Perth double header but that might be pushing it.

Ideal timeline:
7-10th April - Perth Bears announced as 18th club for 2027 entry.

12th April - Optus double header.

April-June - Memberships and basic merch made available for sale.

18th & 21st June - Origin at Optus & HBF Park NRL game. Perth Bears membership & merchandise on sale.

Dont mind Perth, straight forward and easy to geographically identify where the club is from. Dont mind a broader tag to encompass all of the state either.
At this point anything other than 'The' will do.

From day one ‘Perth Bears’ should be the biggest club with Perth as their name. Rare that the city name isn’t used by either of the biggest clubs so the NRL should take advantage of that.

Probably still too soon for Cook's election 'no deal done' stance. Possible gets announced May time. They can then get two lots of media out of it. Announcement in May, second media circus in June at SOO week. Hopefully pre memberships out at HBF park for sale at Dolphins game.

I like Perth as a primary option. Western could be west of anywhere. Not to mention the Wests Tigers who are in fact to the East of Parramatta and Penrith, who would themselves be East of the Western Bears lol. How about Westralia? That might bode well with any sucessionists. It's all too complicated to be honest, so I'll stick with Perth.

I’ve already predicted that there will need to be a bit of a pantomime where PVL and Abdo travel over there to try to “save the deal” with Cook … this probably takes place when the NRL games get played in April….

Afterwards PVL says Cook drove a “hard bargain “ but they will take his stipulations on board and make a decision in due course …. A month later it’s front page news on the AFL rag over there that they are in …and Origin becomes a celebration of the announcement with Cook at the game lapping it up as the guy that made it happen on his own terms ….even though the final numbers look suspiciously similar to the plan put forward in November …including the $120mil for “junior development “…

I don’t think what you’ve laid out is pushing it except perhaps the merch/membership
