well … the NZ bids are still waiting to hear back from PVL and that’s been six months …

I would have just waited a couple of years …. The NRL needed to concern themselves with money going to their sport initially …

I thought there was arguments that the ground had an upgrade when the Women’s World Cup was played 2 years ago …is it really that bad now?
They spent $35mill then. Its not bad, just not great.

Absolute shitshow by the WA Govt. obviously someone powerful has gotten in their ear. Maybe someone invested in afl and has media outlets in WA
I think that an NRL team just isn't that important to the WA govt. Vlandys over rated this, thinking they were desperate.
The private investors were desperate but the govt arnt. If it doesn't go ahead they won't give it a second thought.

Like I said the whole thing has been anNRL fishing trip. I have no doubt that there has never been a strategic plan about how to get an NRL club in Perth.

don't know about that. Perth would just be showing what a provincial little town it is if that were the case...

I'm not that worried about HBF park, I think it would get upgraded sooner rather than later if they announced the NRL team.

Well the western bears bid had everything on that list.
34 jnr clubs across wa and ns
established pathways in ns, govt funds to develop in wa
history in bears brand
assets in owners and guarantees
cofe offered to be built

Correct.

Which is why everything was fine on the NRL side, The govt baulked at funding some of that list.

That is why there is no team because all of it wasn't met

I believe it's not a case of WA or NZ2, we need both in the competition. They are the inverse of each other of what they bring to growing the game as others have said. Success should be measured on can we bring both into the competition within the next 5-10 years.

Well no it wasnt, some of that the consortium was going to fund, the rest the WA govt has agreed to fund. So NRL has turned down all of these things that would have been in place

34 jnr clubs across wa and ns - already exist and bolstered by WA Govt funding
established pathways in ns, govt funds to develop in wa - covered
history in bears brand - covered
assets in owners and guarantees - WB bid had bank guarntees and guranteed workign capital
cofe offered to be built - WA govt agreed to fund

So if theyd accepted the bid in October all of this was covered! Plus the clubs could have got a $20mil bribe.

It should be measured that way … but the NRl clubs seem to want the cash up front …
