they already have a ninth game to sell with PNG
Well I certainly can’t see the regular PNG locals being able to afford NRL prices to attend games on a fortnightly basis.
And they’ll burn the Stadium down if they can’t get in.
But the NRL has never been about actual attendances at games, they only care about TV viewership.

let’s be honest ..the $20mil “bribe” wasn’t enough for the clubs … you and I can think differently but we don’t get a say in the matter
If they had offered 20 million initially like they were told too the bid would’ve been accepted

Perth red told us the bid would never actually pay a license fee until they did

You started this little chat listing the things the Dolphins had as a reason they got in. I just showed you that the Western Bears bid, with WA govt support, had all the same things lined up.

Jnrs - tick 32 Jnr clubs
Established Jnr pathways - tick NS existing, WA funded
Financial security - tick WB bid had back up funding and bank guarantee
CofE - Tick WA govt committed to building one

Licensee fee is irrelevant to that discussion, Dolphins didnt pay one and every NRL club signed a letter of support that was submitted with the Western Bears, bid so seems no club was against it.

It was reported Kerry stokes was getting his media outlets against this during the election

Would t surprise me if twiggy (rugby union) has as well
I suggested the Twiggy angle earlier. My view ru would be decently affected by an NRL team in opposition.
Remember when the rebels were coming in to Melbourne, Fitsgobjaw stated it would be the end of the Storm because these codes would compete against each other & union has been established in Melbourne far longer.

hahah yeh course it would:

Youre not coming in if you dont partner with a sydney club - oh ok
youre still not coming in unless you offer us a bribe - oh ok then heres $20mill
youre still not coming in unless you build a new stadium

Seems a familiar pattern over the last 9 months!

After all those years you spent praising afl for being the benchmark in expansion do you see any irony when you’re beloved afl have killed off the nrls attempt to do the same
