The Sharks should move to Perth.Geez they let Shark Park and its surrounding projects get developed during the NRL season and despite a great atmosphere they draw the smallest sold out crowd in the NRL.

Who knows, Vlandys keeps moving the goal posts every time we acquiesce to his latest demands: partnership with bears, license fee, grass roots funding, now it’s stadium. Who knows what would be next if we ticked the latest box.Answer this question:
If WA had a new 25,000 seat purpose built stadium, would it have a NRL team?
It's already been reported that the WA government did a backflip on the stadium upgrades. It doesn’t matter what we would like …, we don’t get a say in the matter …
The people that do - the NRL Clubs, probably want another $3m bribe each to admit another member to their group. like they got for PNG
So you don't want to answer the question because you know full well that your AFL centric state only has money for AFL infrastructure.Who knows, Vlandys keeps moving the goal posts every time we acquiesce to his latest demands: partnership with bears, license fee, grass roots funding, now it’s stadium. The deal was done, went to the meeting and the WA government had pulled the stadium funding off the table.
Stop trying to make Sydney a scapegoat.
It's your stupid government.
Yes but do you think the league will make any of that money back from PNG ?.Again though. Yes PNG is funded for political reasons but look at where the money is going.
The new club is getting everything it needs to give it best chance to succeed
lol you’re totally ignoring the politics at play. It’s not a question money, or even choice, were coined, it’s a question of cook being backed into a corner when the $300 and $500mill numbers got thrown around by Sydney media at a politically sensitive time. Them making it sound like a license fee was terrible for cook.So you don't want to answer the question because you know full well that your AFL centric state only has money for AFL infrastructure.
Sounds great if the NRL were actually open to negotiate ...Is it? The game knows its worth and won’t settle for less. The games had decades of having no balls and settling for peanuts, or over committing its resources prior to that period, or not understanding its true value.
I’m not happy that things are transpiring the way that they are but I also can’t begrudge the NRL or the WA Gov for their respective stances.
People being over emotional will get them no where, I learnt my lesson 15 years ago with the Central Coast Bears bid. Some didn’t.
Cook should have negotiated things better to get better value, if that’s what he wants. For example ie we will give you x amount of dollars but we want a magic round (as soon as QLD’s current contract ends), 2 origin games in the next 3 years, a test match and commitment that an NRLW side will come into the comp by year 5 which the NRL will help assist in establishing and assist in girls pathways for x amount of years. We will also upgrade HBF but we want 1 double header a year accompanying a home game for 4 years.
It’s not hard.
oh yeah... the NRL and Norths Bears were going to put Perth on the map! LOLIf the NRL gets a team in Perth, the NRL becomes relevant to another roughly 5% of the population. In exchange for Perth becoming relevant to 60% of the population.
Perth wants to attract migration from the east coast. 60% of the population are in QLD and NSW - rugby league heartland.
You'd think that having a brand new stadium and team would entice a lot of people who couldn't commit otherwise. There's not many big League fans a dumb as Perth Red to move 4000km from the closest club.
This is a massive missed opportunity for Perth to become relevant to the majority of Australia's population.
Do you think Perth Red got a job offer in Perth and thought- " awesome! I'm going to Australia! The NRL! Big pay and NRL every week!! This is going to be lit !!!"
Then fully unpacking, slowly realised what's going on.. that he's overlooked something..lol
That must be it right?
but they were already in the comp... theres a difference its not hard to see.Oh it’s reported has it ? By the same people that reported half a dozen times that the Perth Bears were already across the line no doubt …
Plenty of teams play in a lot shitter stadiums than this proposed team would be
i thought the den norths fake group was the biggest bootleg companyit will also have the biggest bootleg merchandise available for locals because the majority of the poor buggers
2024 WA was the fastest growing population state , by %, in Australia. A lack of nrl team really isn’t making any difference to anyone other than rugby league fans here.oh yeah... the NRL and Norths Bears were going to put Perth on the map! LOL

titans came in and got cbus
dolphins had suncorp off the get go.
last 2 expansion sides. the others that play in shittier stadiums been in the comp for half a century plus before this current admin so its an absolute silly point and invalid. new teams need better facilities.
listening to cook yesterday it would seem they became a lot more luke warm about the whole thing after the western bears revised offer was turned down in november. clear the perception on wa side is the bI’d was turned down as nrl thought they could hold cook to ransom.
New teams obviously aren’t being judged by the standards of the existing ones lolOh it’s reported has it ? By the same people that reported half a dozen times that the Perth Bears were already across the line no doubt …

If the stadium funding isn't committed before an NRL team is admitted , it never will. This is the only bargaining chip you have and you want to throw it away?lol you’re totally ignoring the politics at play. Like I said park the stadium for a couple of years, nrl has got the grass roots and training centre funding plus good game day deal it needs. Come back to the stadium in a couple of years when the Perth bears have sold out games and the spend can be seen to be justified.
I don’t even think that cook is opposed to hbf upgrade, just that time isn’t right. Better for him to stagger the numbers so it doesn’t look like he is spending huge sums getting an nrl club. It was Telling Rita used the word ‘immediate’ in her language on the stadium. And the Storm came in and played out of shitty Olympic Park for 10 years … and they proved they could get crowd, developed a following and got a new stadium built for them … there is more than one way to skin a cat
