The best outcome is 2. (with maybe a few more mill for female grassroots thrown in) what the actual outcome will be lord only knows at this point.

I was listening to Vossy on SEN this morning …. Michael Carayannis ( News Ltd) was on there and said it’s still likely that it falls over because they are still too far apart ….$60mil…

However ..and you’ll love this… he also said that if there is any hope for success, it would involve getting the Cumins bid back on the table …. That would be something if that was to happen …PVL going to his bin and getting the Cumins bid out of it….

He's always said he woudl be open to coming back in, which is very pragmatic of him given what happened. I guess if NRL really wanted to bring in more cash and WA govt wasnt willing then it could be a three way ownership model:

NRL 40%
WA consortium 35%
NS Bears 25%

WA puts in $30mill
NS Bears put in $20mill

covers the gap or whatever it is the NRl thinks is missing. But could be a pig to run with three ownership groups!

I dunno how viable it all is … would suggest if the other two put in $50 mil they will own it 100 percent between them .. I don’t think the NRL wants to run it … maybe the ESL thing has changed their mind …too much happening

That could be why cook and the treasurer keep mentioning Cummins they want the money to come from private investors

Who knows maybe the nrl abandons ownership and it’s split 50 50

It is kinda odd to me that that the Cumins bid keeps getting brought up six months later … what a conspiracy theory forming here

Don't see the NRL going back to Cumins & Friends for anything, otherwise PVL would've already kept them involved up to this point.
There's no guarantee the money is there now anyway. like Cumins said at the time people dont just leave $50mill sitting on the table, they've probably invested it elsewhere by now.

The fact that is played at the MCG during a regular time sports fan are use to going to the MCG to watch the AFL will pull a few thousand by itself. It's great to have ambition for the game. Look at the media coverage of this topic already and nothing has happened yet.

fews ago .. months ago .. it hasn't changed from North Sydney's POV.
So wait on, suddenly playing in a cavernous half empty oval stadium is "ambition".

I cant keep up with LU.

The G is a shit venue to watch rectangular sports, and half empty it lacks all atmosphere.

Perhaps your problem is you’re lumping all the posters varied opinions as one under some “LU” tag.

Graeme Hughes mentioned his WA sources talking about residual annoyance at having the Bears foisted upon them.
Look there's been three things that Im sure have grated. 1. Having to take on a Sydney club 2. Having the WA ownership kyboshed 3. The way its been played out through the media.

I'm surprised the WA govt are even still interested, Cook must be very committed!
