Yeh theres been no signs Norths are willing to put up a big chunk. Their finances arent really that crash hot and they fund the FC very little. But in this crazy old expansion world you never know!

So Cumins $30m should be able to be used as the NRL clubs payoff money ? That alone probably gets it across the line

Well there was no signs NRl was going to 'pay off' the clubs after refusing the WB bid so maybe it wasnt really an issue after all. id much rather see that money go to NRLWA.

The club still needs $20mill or so in start up costs before it kicks off. That needs to be covered by the owner, be it NRL or the WA consortium.

apparently an update to the tele story

The NRL and the Western Australia government have been locked in crucial talks on Friday afternoon as they try to salvage the Western Bears side.
It is understood that the NRL heavyweights including Peter V’landys and Andrew Abdo are in the midst of meeting with WA Premier Roger Cook to try and come to some common ground to save the Perth bid.
There is a suggestion that the NRL have counter-offered the WA government asking for a deal worth about $65 million for up to the next seven years. It comes after the WA government’s proposal sent to the NRL last week which included a $35 million commitment for five years. They also made a $20 million pledge for a centre of excellence.
The NRL were originally asking for a 10-year commitment worth $120 million.
The Bears would come into the competition in either 2027 or 2028. PNG will enter the NRL in 2028.
7 year funding should be signed off by Cook.

Well…I’m still a little unsure about some of that language in that article ( resurrect his $30m private bid - where did this figure come from originally ?) …. But it appears there is also a different part you highlighted that totals $50 mil,,,

So if they take his money now …you’ll be happy right ?

I'm not one of the people opposed to his bid, so of course I'd be happy with it.

It's only the wankers that hate PR that don't want his money.

$49mill to grassroots ($7mill over 7 years)+ $20mill for CofE+ $10mill for Ken Allen field + $5mill or so for stadium usage = $85mill Should get the deal done. (plus agreement to review stadium in '27 or '28)

They must be doing it via teams meeting……..

I’m not sure about the Norths investment thing coming off …. Thats been more of a story here on the forum than in the media …if there is any money they can put forward you think it comes quickly now ..it’s time to crap or get off the pot…

I think $90-$100m between Cumins and the WA Govt probably gets it done anyway ….

Cook might have been right that the NRL needs Perth more than vice versa …
No Perth NRL team is bad outcome for both parties. League isn't the same game as it was in the 80s and 90s and by that I mean it's a game that is now dominated by pacific islanders. It's a great selling point to our game and honestly the WA govt should be wanting to have some exposure to that, as AFL will never provide it.

It is going to be the temp training facilities (2-3 years?) for the club whilst the Malaga complex is built. When they move out it will be handed over to Freo council for community sports use. The WA bid was originally going to pay for it but when they were turned down the WA govt agreed to pick up the bill. There is a big development underway there and this is going to be added to it.

I think both sides will benefit… but I also think there seems a bit more urgency from PVL to get the deal done now …

InsiderBear has seen it. He's Vlandys' right hand man.
poor pathetic minimus, the sad little man who needs a booster seat. Ya see he is jealous of posters because he has no life, no real drive, he just exists to be a sad sack of shit. He is invisible to the world, no one cares for him or just opinions.

today he tried to big up bear because bears said nrl were meetin wa gov but an article from randoms said otherwise so minimus thought bear was bs but now turns out that nrl did meet wa gov and minimus seemingly deviates away from that fact he was a poor pathetic little man earlier. No acknowledgement of his error though. No not from him.

he is jealous that maybe some posters here have a life and have connections within the game but not minimus, no not him. he cries himself to sleep after his regular dinner of a servo sausage roll. Poor poor minimus

we might get an announcement at the double header yet lol
If they agree today, I'd have it on the WA news tonight to have full news impact tomorrow morning. They'd then get the crowd they wanted.
As Big Kev the late Qld business entrepreneur would often say in his ads "I'm excited".

The funniest thing about this thread is all the people saying the arl should accept 50 million for Perth are the same people who said png was a bad bid to accept with their 850 million in govt funding

Never change lu
