Ok guess how much gws giants have had spent in a rugby league heartland

you tell me ? And how much before they entered the comp? How much did the Govt spend to upgrade their shitty stadium? It also has a dual purpose with the Easter Show which is a pretty big deal every year

They have also been around now for a while whilst the Perth Bears are still on the drawing board so not a like for like comparison

Blacktown which they abandoned when they realised what western Sydney is like

Showgrounds

New centre of excellence at Homebush

Afl stadiums in rugby league states are going to be better than league ones or on par esp with Brisbane and Accor being what it is

so how much did they spend on their stadium for the renos ..?

According to wiki the Govt paid 50 percent of $65m ..you would turn your nose up at that paltry amount these days

Why ignore the stadium in Blacktown which they abandoned

Afl got that money without having to give extra games to the nsw govt and with no public uproar

The nrl media didn’t make a big deal about it like the wa media are now

Then we wonder why afl gets better crowds when they got so much better stadiums than league does

Well .,,you tell me what they paid for Blacktown? I doubt it was much ..You make a big deal about it but never provide any amounts ..

Like I said ..you are trying to compare AFL funding in Sydney to a sport that hasn’t even started yet in Perth ..I have little doubt HBF gets an upgrade over the next decade

Look at this magnificent stadium ….at a cost of $27 million and capacity of 10k …seems perfect to me for the niche sport it is …. Maybe Cook could build similar for the Bears ?

All up the giants have had around 80 million

And rather than waste money on the Showgrounds they could’ve played at Accor

But they said it was too big and wanted a purpose built ground

When it comes to stadiums league just doesn’t get looked after well

Heck commbank was built more for the wanderers and Allianz because it’s multi purpose

Canberra stadium is rotting whilst the govt wants to invest in Manuka

Penrith and north qld are a rare example of league being looked after

And now we have hbf park which is on par with some suburban grounds in Sydney

Nrl putting zero in, afl putting in$150mill. Might be reflective of the end outcome maybe?

I know we’ll play at optus and say the wa govt has invested $1.8 billion into the game. That seems to be your logic re Christchurch lol

Yet the NRL may well be putting millions into saving the ESL.
Budget blowing out past $1bn according to outside info. The AFL will not be adding to the increase original cost of $775M. I repeat from a state who is in sh*tsville money wise , hence the backlash from residents(many no doubt AFL supporters) which is reflective of the outcome. What other football codes will be sharing that stadium ?

WA is in a far better financial position ,than Tasmania will ever be. 3 football coes that use common rectangular ground.

So we at $70m…is that a lot over 15 years ? For stadium and COE
Well Perth nrl has had $30mill committed for infrastructure before theybe even kicked off lol. You could also argue the $120mill spend on hbf in 2012 was partly motivated by the believe that the west coast pirates were going to be admitted in the near future.

12 million or so for a new coe in Homebush

After the stadium got built for them in Blacktown they shouldn’t have got a cent and been forced to play at Accor
They also have extended their deal with the ACT Govt (10th Dec 2022) for a further 10 years : $2.85m per annum .
So 2 AFL teams 1 domiciled NSW, the other 50/50 received decent benefits in non AFL dominated areas.
How much will the AFL be contributing to the new you beaut Olympic stadium in Brisvegas?
