One of the biggest concerns about the two new teams coming in is whether there’s enough talent out there, but Robinson isn’t worried and says people need to start focusing on the future and what the sport looks like in 20 years’ time.

“I always believe in our game,” he said.

“There’s always talk when a new team comes in that there’s not going to be enough players to go around, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think we’ll always have that (depth).

“I always think what our competition is going to look like in 2040. It’s a pretty simple question. Perth will be in, PNG will be in, New Zealand will have another team, possibly Fiji will be on the cards.

“That’s when it’s then about ‘how do we get that done?’“
We need to start signing up the Union kids in WA

This immediately puts pressure on PNG, despite what some of the crazies on here believe an Australian Capital City is far more attractive than Port Moresby for players.

As I posted previously in this thread, and as per @Steel Saints its much more logical to delay there entry by a few years, to allow them to build up some infrastructure and recruit.
If Perth is indeed making it's debut in 2027, it makes sense not to rush PNG for 2028.

For a start.. Perth gives us a 9th game, but PNG as team 19 doesn't add another game in itself

it might even be worth waiting until the location of team 20 is determined, then either adding both together or in quick succession (say 2029 for team 19, 2030 or 2031 for team 20) so we have 19 teams & a weekly bye for only 1 or 2 seasons at most.

It’s already decided that PNG are coming into the competition in 2028. That’s not going to change.

PNG adds 12 more games a season which is valuable to Aussie tv networks

We are finally healed after the SL war

Gold Coast returned
Brisbane 2 returned
Souths returned
Manly returned
And now Perth and the Bears have returned.

Now to get back to where we left off before that shit fight kicked off in 1995 and truly become Australia's undisputed number 1 sport
The only other tweaks are if the Dragons move all home games to Wollongong & Tigers full time to (redeveloped?) Campbelltown, but generally speaking yeah - we're pretty much back where we were!

Excellent news. Love Norths being back in some form and of course a Perth team.

Now all they need to do is sign Trent Barrett as coach.

I'm guessing that Perth Red is walking backwards into the bush like Homer and coming back out in full support of the leadership of PVD...in 2 days he'll be claiming to have always trusted his leadership..
Im keeping my powder dry. we were here in August and September remember!
Nice of you to be thinking of me though :)
