F him .. He Is employed by the company that partners with the NRL for its FTA coverage and is probably the biggest thing it has going for them , but is given such a prominent position in the most “respected “ newspaper in the city to bag the crap out of the game 2-3 times a week

I don’t know if he genuinely believes this stuff or is just trolling …a lot of these other sports guys seem to think that the NRL should just stay in NSW and never have any ambition ..the guy works in sports for a Sydney newspaper but seems oblivious ( or pretends to be) to how the biggest sport he covers is actually going these days with record revenue, ratings and crowds ..

I think both Union and AFL are very nervous of League putting a team in Perth. Lets face it, everywhere League has gone Union has suffered. There is 1 thing the AFL would be very worried about and that is League luring indigenous kids. I think there is already an issue in that game with the number of indigenous players decreasing over the years. Would be hugely embarrassing for the AFL if indigenous kids in WA started gravitating towards NRL.

The way he kept coming back to the Vegas thing to ridicule it was a real revelation about the state of his mind regarding League`s success, profile and ambitions, he literally couldn`t stop himself. In the end his invective was so clear he was embarrassing himself.

It`s obvious he thinks it is just so unfair that his game is in the toilet and this other game is thriving. Absolute classic case of a someone who thinks they are a lot smarter then everyone else and just can`t understand why they, others, don`t get it. If only they listened to me they`d understand. We`ve seen the same identical behaviour from him on several other topics.

Anyway after 30 years of giving it to him both personally (I`ve given it to him a couple of times on radio talkback) and in the comments section of the papers (he now has me blocked in the Herald) I`m just happy to know that he is suffering.

Absolutely spot-on. Souths are a smash hit over there and in particular Latrell and Cody. You could say that Souths are gold with their Indigenous Australian profile.
This is one reason of many why we must keep the Indigenous All-Stars match, it is a magnet for attracting our Indigenous Australian friends, I`ve been to two and they are goosebumps on arms stuff and the crowd was chockers with both Indigenous Australians and New Zealanders.

Sorry but if Brad Arthur is the best they can do for a first off coach then the coaching ranks are horrific. He has zero personality and is average at best as a coach. If the coach has to be average at least get someone with a pulse who can excite the locals.

Arthur sucked the life out of the Parramatta club the longer he was there.

Anyone that talks up his junior development under his tutelage are kidding themselves.

Dylan Brown, Will Penisni are the only 2 consistent first graders that have come through the junior sides and look how well they are going.

Penisini can't catch, pass or tackle anymore and Dylan Brown has been exposed as a one trick pony that has conned Newcastle into giving him $13million.

Arthur got moderate consistent results with a mature squad constantly topping up then instead of junior development we sign blokes like Davey, Joffa.

As for WA’s two “strong” AFL teams, yes maybe off the field, on the field West Coast is currently is last position and Fremantle are struggling to crack the top eight.

There’s only two clubs of note there unlike Melbourne which has nine
