How are the Bears targeting any marque signing, crap articles ... no one has officially even been approved in their role yet to even consider who the club will sign.

Yeah ..pretty ordinary articles …just total speculation at this stage ..
I can’t be bothered listening to this one, but I’d be throwing the kitchen sink at Payne Haas …still only 25 now …not that anyone needs to be a genius to suggest that .

Agree.
But won’t be a good-look for the NRL when it raids existing clubs for marquee and other players to fill the Bears roster.
They'll keep it at arms distance with an independent board and a CEO leading recruitment. Otherwise they could be accused of using inside info as they know what every contract in the comp is worth.
Id assume the coach will get a say, when he's appointed!

With 2 new clubs coming in the NRL should create a salary cap exemption for those outside the code to bring over talent.
2 million per club, per season from 2027 ,reducing as the cap expands
Current cap 12 million + 2 million
Forward moving 13 + 1 ect
Something like that.

That's the fastest way to grow the talent pool.

No doubt they will do that and maybe even announce that head office has no role in recruitment. Unfortunately with the NRL owning the new team there is no way around it that I can see. But do you trust in so called 'chinese walls' especially if your team loses a gun player to a team run by head office? Will head office be game enough to raid the best player of say the Roosters, Storm, Broncos or Penrith? Only time will tell.

Anyone with Yawnion knowledge wanna take at look at ChatGPTs list,

Alright — let’s go! 🔥 Here's a realistic list of
South African URC players most likely to move to the NRL if the right offer landed:

🏉💰 "Most Likely to Move" List

PlayerTeamAgeWhy They’d MoveNRL Position Fit
Canan MoodieBulls21Young, freak athlete, already world-class winger/fullback; perfect for NRL glamour clubs.Fullback / Wing
Suleiman HartzenbergStormers21Explosive speed + power, not locked in at Springbok level yet, perfect project player for NRL.Wing / Center
Henco van WykLions22Physical strike runner, hard on defense, NRL loves tough centers like him.Center
Phepsi ButheleziSharks24Fast, mobile backrower, loves open play — his skill set would thrive in fast league systems.Lock / Second-row
Hacjivah DayimaniStormers26Ridiculously athletic loose forward, would tear NRL defenses apart with line breaks.Lock / Second-row
Quan HornLions22Strong fullback, solid under the high ball, rapid acceleration — would adapt to NRL structures quickly.Fullback
Sacha Feinberg-MngomezuluStormers22Young, skillful, plays flyhalf/center — could adapt to NRL halfback/five-eighth with coaching.Five-eighth / Center

I think we could look at any of them.
Super Rugby, Japan, France, Ireland, South Africa, Fiji.
2 million per club, per season. You could spend it on 1 player if you wanted and if every club did that, you pinch the top 19 players from the global Rugby landscape.
The best they have.

Not sure your NRL stars on $1mill will be overly impressed to see Union players come in on $2mill?

You don't think this resentment already exists? It's always there and never going away but we're looking at adding 60 full-time first graders over the next 3 years.
We don't want to be raiding SL, that's the last thing we need. So where are they coming from? We'll just be promoting NSW Cup ect which will lower the standards.

I think it needs serious consideration.

If the nrl was serious about juniors it would provide generous salary cap rewards for clubs to develop player not the current system

The longer that player has been in your systems the larger the percentage of their salary is outside the cap

The advantage of that is you would get tens of millions more spent on juniors coming form leagues club rather then arl revenues

But the roosters and storm would never allow ir
