“Burgess’ case was also endorsed by legendary coach Wayne Bennett – who did admit he would be reluctant to see him take the reins at a new franchise, though. “Of course Sam Burgess has a coaching future in the NRL but I wouldn’t want to see him go to a start-up club,” Bennett said.”
Very much doubt they would go with a rookie coach, unless they brought in Bennet as well for a two year stint with Burgess to then take over.

lol its an interview when the RL nines where in Perth and Vlad was asked if it was pre cursor to Perth getting a club.
Well what changed to make it more attractive AFTER 5 YEARS.. Well lots. WA Government came on board, market in Perth while small is much better than other 'rusted on states' but now with other synergies and backing by a 'old league Club' with substantial $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Unless they are going to get a high profile coach who knows how to set up pathways etc, I'm talking Bennett, Bellamy, Stuart, Robinson, (Arthurs is not one of these by a long shot), then the next best thing would be to get a great General Manager.
They honestly should be making Gould their number one target. His influence in the game as a whole would be highly advantageous and set them up for future generations.

Some of the questions allegedly being posed at todays expansion meeting with clubs

How will the NRl manage conflict of interest ownign Perth and PNG whilst managing the comp?
How will they handle hyper inflation expected from two clubs needing coaches and players?
How will they handle dilution of standard of the comp?
How will NRL handle improved player development and supply?
What financial return will there be for existing clubs if NRL decides to sell Perth Bears to a private owner in years to come?

Most of the clubs already know the how’s. Most of the info was explained to a degree of detail last week.

Some clubs have various differing items they want clarifications on compared to other clubs. You’ll find 75% of those items actually relate to PNG more than Perth.

Heavy hitter clubs are using this meeting as an opportunity to drink free piss and discuss officiating.

Nrl club CEOs are full of it

The nrl owned the knights and the titans

Every question is answered by giving them dollars

If nrl are selling to highest bidder your mate gets another chance to get back in

Someone who did a backflip and gets the bears back in

Or

Someone who says it’s important to have a “national” competition and does nothing

Talking of backflips you want Billy Moore to be an ambassador yet have said you don’t want norths people (he’s a current director) involved in the club
As an ambassador yes, running the Perth club, no.
