So whats the word on the official team name? Perth or Western Bears?

Whatever the name, this is a great result for RL and the only true expansion we've undertaken in almost 30 years!

Honestly, he is now the best administrator the game has or probably will ever have, even accounting for the post covid tv deal 'mishap'.

You can say now that with 2 brissie teams and the return of WA and the bears, he has healed the super league wounds.

Add to that raising the international profile of the game (nrl and superleague) with vegas and basically getting governments to fund pacific pathways and expansion. You can disagree with the guys style of doing business, but for me he has got the results to show for it.

Personally I am really glad the game is getting a team in Perth again, the people there deserve it.

Sounds nice in theory and would be nostalgic but don't think so. NSO will not be commercially viable for a game. For the one off game it needs to be at the SFS against Manly/Souths etc.. on a Sunday. Will help the Perth Bears sell memberships in Sydney included tickets for this game. I reckon this could potentially get a crowd north of 30K, make it another event game for the NRL.

They are probably keeping that funding seperate to the bid costs. It's was an election promise for a shared facility with rugby union.
