From SMH:
V’landys was also asked if the NRL had consulted with the AFL about the move into Perth, a question that received a straightforward response.

“No. I don’t see McDonalds checking with Kentucky Fried Chicken when they’re opening a new store,” he said.

“We certainly have not consulted with the AFL. They don’t consult with us.”

Gotta love PVL in our corner he’s a great operator.

Vlandys handled the press conference well. Always reiterating that the investment by the WA Govt would make a return on investment for the WA tax payers. From the NRL's perspective the business case had to stack up.

As opposed to our opposition raping and pillaging the country's poorest state whilst simultaneously propping up two black holes.

Well done NRL

He did absolve himself, and correct, "the NRL is KFC"

I'd have paid more points if he said "Kentucky Fried Chicken"
For PVL is our Colonel Sanders

Great news, will sign up as an international member along with my Souths ones.

Only 2 things I didn't like from it..
1) Playing an NRL game in NSO, that should be at the SFS with 30K plus.
2) Working with union for players etc.. I hope it is a throwaway line just to be onside with Twiggy.

He didn't say it would be an NRL game.
He just said there would be a game at NSO.
It may well be just a trial match.
Bears fans will get plenty of opportunities to see the Bears play in Sydney at other grounds.
V'Landy's has higher ambitions than playing an NRL game at an inner city suburban dump.

I heard the North Sydney Bears CEO mention the Reds today … perhaps their legacy will be formally recognised in some way … they are a chapter in the 80 yr history of Perth RL
With all the varying jerseys released each year why not:
home jersey, away jersey, heritage jersey, Anzac jersey, women in league jersey and an indigenous jersey.

They should have the Perth Reds play in the NSWRL or QRL Cup.. as a reserve grade side.

That’s too much … I expect the NSW Cup side to remain the North Sydney Bears and based at NSO…

Was thinking more along the lines of the Reds Logo maybe talking up a small spot on the back of the jersey or sleeve ? I mentioned that before and some of the old Bears had a stroke though
