I know this won't happen, but in ALL honesty, I believe Wade McKinnon is the form NSW fullback in the NRL....Mini isn't going as well as he was last season, Hornby has been good but it seems he's no longer wanted, Hodgy has been alot better than last season but is still too damn light weight, Pattern is hot and cold.

Deadset - I've taken my blue and gold glasses off and all I can see is Wade.

I also have no clue why I am pushing his cause, because there is no way I want to have him miss a game for us after being called up to origin duty.

yeah hes alright. hodgo is playing the best out of the fullbacks at the moment though. i reckon hodgo might get an origin 3 call up after minichiellos effort in origin 2.

I totally agree. Hodgson is playing just as well now if not better than he did for us.

hello hello Brett Hodgson , leads the nrl in line breaks, 7 tries, try assists, and he is playing better then he did for you blokes in 2001, i would go as far as saying hodgson is the form player of the competition.

Anyway, Mckinnon has surprised me, hes been very good for you guys both in attack and especially cleaning everything up at the back

Both players were in the dumps last year, amazing what a change of clubs will do, and a thing called confidence.

Wade will not be in SOO contention....Gould would rather have a more attacking prone footy player like hodgo, minzi or hornby rather then a defensive player like pattern or Wade!

mckinnon is definately the suprise packet of the year so far. we all bagged him when we heard that parra had signed him up but hes been a rock of stability at the back for us this year. hes definately made us all eat our words.

happy with Wade McKinnon's form, but let's just keep him to ourselves for a while. We need him more than the Blues do.

Besides, there is no way they'll be dumping Miniciello. Apart from the fact that he's a Rooster and all that, the fact is he had only one bad game, and the selectors love him. He deserves to keep his spot for at least the rest of the series.

As for the Hodgo the Turnstile? I think the Blues selectors made that mistake a few seasons ago and everyone laughed at him after getting rag dolled by Tallis and defending like a speed bump. Good luck to him coz he seems like a good bloke, but I don't reckon we miss him one bit.

McKinnon's good, but Hodson's better.

We don't need him to be selected for origin. We don't wanna have to pay him 200k to stay next year.

thats right... if he bums out of origin too then this might shatter him...

let him consolidate on the form hes found so far and give him a better contract.. sometimes players play even better when they know there futures secured..

I think wade is no chance for game 3 but phil gould really does have big wraps on him when you listen to him commentate against storm and eagles.

I agree with everyone that it will not happen ....AND I don't want it to happen cos I want him to play for us instead.....BUT seriously he is the best fullback at the moment - outstanding defense!!!!!, great support play, excellent positional play, safe under the kicks and covering the grubbers.

although McKinnon is good, the best fullback in the comp at the moment is Brett Hodgson and he deserves a blue's jersey more

yes I didn't think much of Mckinnon at the start of the year. I knew back in the day when he was Reggies Fullback he was going to be something big but never got his chance. After his first performance in first grade for us this year I knew he would come good and be one of our best this season.

Umm...

I thought talent, passion, skill and good defence were not required for the Blues number one. Just ask Mini.

But seriously, going on form, he's been one of the best.

Sure he hasn't scored a million tries, but:

* He's always cleaned up at the back

* Always in the right spot

* He can tackle

* He sniffs around players for offloads

* He is SMART.

If it was based on form, I couldn't see why not.

But honestly - Tahu after ONE game? Gidley? MINI? WATERHOUSE?

Obviously form and talent are not as important as your name.

I'm happy with Wade's form, but I think he's still a solid year or so away from rep footy. With a year of first grade fullback behind him he'll be even better, and should be a chance at city-country next year, and from there who knows?

I'd be happy for Hodgson to come in for Minichello in Origin III, it would be good for the guy who really seemed to go downhill after that Gordie fling in what became his last SOO game.

But you look at the Roosters origin connection, and you just know Mini's position is safe :?

He might be going well, but there is no way he is playing better than in 2001
